    @Q t e a p o n:
    I mean, it takes a little practice to balance and find your own voice in social situations. We can all pick out pretty quickly who is a prick under the guise of being "honest" (the most cringeworthy) or "edgy," (just eyeroll worthy).
    @Shark: This is possible, yes. I've added you to the queue!
    Is there anything else that you'd like particularly noted besides the necklace?
    I think there's a meme around somewhere that makes light of this feeling. I think the last line is that, when walking away from a conversation you just had, you would think 'that wasn't my best work.'

    It happens, but as it has been mentioned, you can only really be mindful of the things you're doing intentionally. A lot of it comes with age, but practice also helps build confidence. I had a philosophy that if I said something mean about a person, I had to be able to say it to their face and accept whatever consequences come my way. I didn't go out of my way to be mean, but we've all been in a situation where you just wanted to tell the other person they were being an asshole--whether or not it's appropriate to do so is up to your judgment and your backbone.

    The last paper I ever wrote was only about 16 pages. The professor wanted to curtail anyone who thought they could be impressive by writing dozens of pages, and to be honest, I don't blame him. I must have done well on the paper because I had a special notation (and only found out because I showed a friend my grades). I struggled for a little bit when it came to keeping the paper on track to a certain point, and it helped to have periodic 'check ins' with the professor by submitting an outline, a fleshed out outline, etc.

    Ah, there was another one about 20 pages long, but I hated writing about it so I forgot. Plus, the professor repeatedly forgot about our meetings or double-booked over mine so I didn't put a lot of effort into it.

    I'm sure you'll pass and get a good grade! It sounds like you put a lot of work into the essays and you've been striving to do well and finish quickly so I've no doubt that it will pay off.

    That's pretty exciting; congratulations!

    The costs here are fluctuating quite a bit and there has been a big push towards purchasing homes further from the city because it's too expensive to live closer. I remember how Seattle started to be more of a condo city because everyone was moving out due to the prices. I don't understand economics enough to predict whether this is another form of a housing bubble, but I figure if you can afford it and you're happy, what else is there.

    @Q t e a p o n: Thank you for letting me know.
    Ah, yes, 15k is great but the price is only 10k.

    Your avatar is really cute, by the way. I've noticed it a couple of times, but it has such a soft appearance so it's fun to look at.

    It really just depends on what you like; it's hard to look at a space and give suggestions blindly. As an example, when I lived alone, I preferred a more simple and industrial look. My furniture was either gray or dark blue, and the harder pieces were a darker-colored wood so that everything could be interchanged in each room without clashes. In the house I'm in now, we tend to focus more on pieces that have storage.

    It helps to find photos of rooms that you like, and to remember what you're using the room for. I have a book of sketches of the spaces in the house so that I can easily refer to it if I happen across a piece of furniture or storage item that I like. I just open up the book, look to see if it would fit in the particular space I'm imagining and go from there.

My Entry:

I was pretty excited to see a little Sudowoodo bonsai.
    @GoblinsAndTea: It’s no sweat, I’m pleased you like it. The more I got into it, the more I enjoyed it. I don’t have any particular home base or username that I operate under. Recently I’ve been using a tumblr as a sort of makeshift gallery.

    I’ll work on finding a more permanent address but in the meantime you’re welcome to credit wherever is comfortable. You have all the rights to the piece.

    @Q t e a p o n: Ms. Starling sounds very interesting; I would love to draw her. Is there anything I should be particularly mindful of?

    I was just eating congee all last week, hahaha. It's just a rice porridge and you can add whatever you want; a great way to stretch rice or just to eat when your stomach isn't feeling great.

    If ramen is a staple, try stir-frying it with cabbage or changing up the broth. My partner and I will do a curry broth or I'll add a wad of peanut butter to make it feel richer. My own personal favorite is to make a chili oil and put that on everything; even rice feels jazzed up. If you do happen to get your hands on some cheese, pizza is pretty cheap to make, too. If you aren't buying the dough at a grocery store, then you can buy some yeast and make the dough yourself with water and flour. That same dough can be split to make cinnamon rolls (or another sweet bun).

    Oatmeal is usually pretty cheap and filling, although with the carbs it can sometimes make you feel extra hungry later.
@GoblinsAndTea: Please let me know if anything needs to be adjusted.
