That's kind of funny about Neopets.
It felt like quite a few of the more established avatar sites were bought by Silicon Valley bros who drool at the idea of NFTs and Bitcoin. This is just an uninformed assumption, but it seems that so many sites and games shifted to a gacha system because their userbase are committed and unable to completely comprehend the reality of cash-to-game-currency.

    haha
I'm sorry that happened to you, but it is kind of funny. It's a learning thing. I only know about acetone and plastics because I used to do my nails all the time and you'd use acetone to melt the acrylic off your fingers. It's kind of wild, right?

    Congratulations on the commission.
You should have anything regarding payment in writing, especially for friends and family. Even if you're inexperienced and voiced that to the client beforehand, when they accept the terms, then you're both obligated; one to pay, one to make the logo.

I made a logo for a construction company in my hometown, but they ended up going with their old design. I was working with the guy who was designing the website, but to be honest, I dodged a bullet by not being associated with him.
Posted in What do you ACTUALLY call them? Posted 3 years ago
If I'm being respectful, I will use a surname. Generally I will use the name for a person that they request, otherwise it's just the surname.

For animals, it's usually whatever they are. Dogs are "pup," cats are "cat," etc.
As a child, I have a memory of a helicopter mom trying to warn my parents about Hallowe'en candy--specifically that drugs were being put in child candy buckets. And very specifically, I remember my father asking this woman which house it was because if they're giving away drugs for free then he was bringing his bucket.

Somehow the same rumor goes around every year and the same genre of people go nuts over it because they don't seem to be attached to reality.

I cook as a hobby. Recently I've been tossing the idea around in my head of making some hard candies.

I don't have a side hustle because the main hustle typically encompasses my life.

I used to be part of a small artist community on Gaia some years ago, but as with the passage of time it also faded away. I think I noticed that quite a few people in the group stopped talking to me or acknowledging me once I stopped making art--particularly for them. It was a little bit of a bummer to see so blatantly that I was really only thought of as a cheap art mule, but I'm better off now despite the sourness.

I'm old enough that social media is kind of befuddling to me. I can use it, and participate more passively.
There was a classmate who was very active on TikTok and I just can't help but feel she was the biggest twit I've ever met. It seemed like every week she was doing something to advertise how bad she was at making sound decisions.

I don't think I've ever said the word "adulting" out loud in my life.

Cooking is more of a hobby, so even when I'm not up to making a fully-fledged meal, it's a bit more involved than a frozen dinner or dry ramen. Lately, as an easy meal, I'll just heat up one of those Jamaican beef patties with a beer and call it dinner.

Sounds like you had a great time, and it's pretty great luck that you were able to score some tickets to the event.

I think the only bands remotely in that genre that I've ever seen in person was one called...36 Crazyfists, and when Lit opened for No Doubt (when they were still around). I'm not much of a concert-goer, so I'm always trying to buy a ticket for a friend so my partner can with someone instead of me when there's a big one.

    It's cute.
I feel like any time a kitten has been adopted, they're always sick or covered in fleas. It was a trend in school for people to adopt pets from shelters so there were a lot of gross cats around.

Anything with Adam Sandler. London Fields.
Anything from the 70s. It's as if directors were afraid to make the film too short so they filmed everything.

    It happens.
Just don't sit in the cynicism for too long because it can make you bitter without appreciating the simple pleasures life has to offer. Sometimes you just have to take things for face value and with a grain of salt. Often this comes with age, but mostly it's just from understanding your own limits and how to sort through what the world is offering you.
Ohh, I like Meowth. I am looking forward to the entries for this round!
