I listen to a playlist as I fall asleep so the results often come out as heavy on classical and not particularly enjoyable in the daytime.

The dialogue in the Matrix felt like what a Boomer believes a Millennial in a professional industry talks like. Because, O-M-G, can you believe that? Totes rad.

I think that with any loved series or franchise, you're going to have to remember that the nostalgia of what you love will rarely be met with the expectations of what is new. I say rarely because I felt that Dune was widely well-received. There are just some fans you aren't going to please.

As a movie on the whole, just taken at face-value, I thought it was fine. There was nothing particularly memorable and I had to look up extra information after viewing so that I could understand what was going on. The expositions in the film were blurted out so quickly and mixed with acronyms so I personally didn't understand. In the end, when Smith changes, I didn't understand. I had to look up to understand that he "vacated" the body he borrowed and wasn't just somehow patched out/purged by the Analyst (Neil Patrick Harris).

For me personally, it was interesting to see the contrast between what was viewed as sleek cyber punk back in the 90s--all that shiny pleather and trenchcoats--versus what is fantasy/cool today. I guess chartreuse, mesh crop-tops and Manic Panic! are what makes you a fantasy character these days.

That being said, I did like the brief glimpses in reflections that didn't match the characters. When I first caught it with Neo, I wasn't really sure if I had seen it and that was enjoyable. The costumes the neo-Morpheus wore were so flamboyant and interesting (especially in the sparring sequence) but I would have appreciated an explanation as to why the new Morpheus and Smith were combined into this new character? Or, as you said, why he was suddenly treated as the original? We get this long-winded and cocky explanation about why the Analyst/N.P. Harris is running the show but then zip on anything else.

Hopefully, I pass my exam but I'm not holding my breath. My fear is having to take it for a third time, but hey. Hopefully this year I can land a job and finally enter the workforce. Aside from that, I just want to eat delicious food and live quietly, hahaha.

@Kent: My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoy them and I hope I did your little darlings justice.

@Delightfully: I want to thank you sincerely for the art piece. It's beautiful and genuinely thrills me that her debut piece was done so beautifully by you. You have an incredible talent.

@Hachi: Thank you again for hosting this event. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

@Totalanimefan: Oh, I have! I played Rune Factory 4 on the switch, which I really loved. The look of it was beautiful, and it was the first time that a Harvest Moon-esque game had a battle system. At first I was a little unsure, but it grew on me quickly and I enjoy replaying that game. If it had a little more customization, it'd probably be the only thing I played. Although, I believe that may most likely be a feature in the upcoming Rune Factory 5.

@Goblin: He came off as one of the more reasonable and respectful candidates, but I had no idea he was a marriage candidate at the time, haha. I had the extension, but then just sort of figured things out on my own and figured being nice to all the villagers wouldn't hurt.

@Priestess of Pie: I'm a fan of the Harvest Moon games, too! Do you have a favorite game of the series, or a favorite candidate you wish was in your favored series?

@Goblin: [unintentional summon whenever Harvest Moon is mentioned]
I love that whole series. It’s too bad they didn’t push the Story of Seasons; Trio of Towns over to the Switch (or more of them, really).

Can you believe I married Woofio? What a twist that was.

@The Bride: It was pretty delicious and spicy as I remember, so I might come across it again one day. I think I'll head over to H Mart next weekend, but I was aiming more for burdock and pickled daikon.

The crystallized ginger is really yummy in a moscow mule. The Fairmont hotel does theirs that way.

Oh, no resolution in particular. I hope I pass my exam, but aside from that, I've never been much of a goal-setter or resolution kind of person.

Ahh, I don't even think I could help someone with their homework if I was pressed. I barely remember most of the stuff I learned in school so I feel like I'd be more of a hindrance.

    Ahah, that was cute.
I bought an espresso machine when I went to graduate school, so I have access to nice latte and espresso drinks more often than most.

@star2000shadow: It's not too bad on this end. I hope all is well with you as well.

@The Bride: I've never tried the Gin Gin, but I see them often. I think they make some kind of candied ginger too, don't they? The ones I grew up on and think of are Sina Ginger Candy. They're usually in a white box.
Posted in Lost In A Dream|Come Hangout+Freebs Posted 2 years ago
@The Bride: I picked up a ginger hard-candy the last time I was at the market. It's supposed to be a mix of ginger and coconut, so it's a little bit smoother and more caramel-y. It makes me miss those chewy ginger candies, though, the ones you can dissolve into hot water and make a tea.
