I wonder if it's not just the seasonal change that is causing all the sniffles? I had some bad allergies yesterday; it felt like out of the blue, but it's possible that the wind kicked up some pollen or dust or all the cat hair in the city (who knows). I think I was more worried about being sniffly and coughing out in public, so I took an antihistamine.
Humidifiers and air purifiers are pretty great--not in conjunction, of course. I will have to give mine a deep clean and see if I can't de-calcify the humidifier before using it this week.

I stopped being a people-pleaser after my last job. It was pretty baffling to see all the ways that my university would try to take advantage of students and that 'people-pleaser,' 'don't-say-no-because-it's-networking' attitude. I just genuinely did not care if the professionals in that area thought I wasn't a 'team player' because I wouldn't work without pay or a guarantee of a recommendation. Alumni were probably the worst offenders, though; they knew the game and so they would offer these super shitty positions with even shittier pay and students would drool for it.
To be honest, even a small employer does not give a shit if you don't wake up tomorrow so there's no reason to sacrifice yourself for them.

I don’t think I would have ever been able to land a guess if I didn’t read them all in conjunction and if my partner wasn’t crying over one of them at the time.
