@MimikyuToo: The weather has been all over the place, I feel like. Back in my hometown, they've been getting record amounts of snow so it feels a lot like how it was when I grew up. Into my later years, there wasn't as much snow so it started to feel a little bit like Washington with all the rain and casually late snowfall.

Oh, I learned to drive on ice! But I think the roads and traffic patterns where I live now are so drastically different that I wouldn't trust any other driver, ha ha!

I visited D.C. for the first time last December. It was very pretty and I had some really great food while I was there. I was most surprised by all the marble everywhere; it really does feel like a waste to make the curbs out of marble but go off, I guess.

I like the winter and autumn here, they're pleasant enough. But the summers are just brutal sometimes, especially with all the pavement and utter lack of greenery. And all the goddamn garbage that's always piled up everywhere. Pee yew.

@MimikyuToo: Like if I needed support, I was on my own. It lasted quite a while and came in hand several times as a computer tablet. This was just ahead of when tablets started to become more widely popular. That being said, apple is supposed to have some pretty great customer support with their products from what I was led to understand. Although, to be fair, the also like to stop supporting older devices all the time so it kind of evens out.

I tend to prefer writing directly on the screen rather than with a separate tablet. Plus, taking notes can be a little bit cumbersome if I have to haul along another separate device.

    Oh, what could have been!

    Three times the pecking power.
Posted in Favorite audiodramas and/or podcasts? Posted 1 year ago
I don't listen to podcasts often, and they weren't usually audiodramas. The top few that I have listed are:
    The Moth
This is a collection of short stories with a wide range of storytelling abilities, themes, and sentiments. I've come across some incredibly funny stories from peoples' life here--just imagine that one person who always makes the worst thing that happened to them the funniest thing you've ever heard. I've also heard some really sad stories, bizarre ones, and ones from people who really should just keep that shit to themselves (the chronic over-sharers). All in all, though, it's actually kind of fun to drop back into on occasion.

    Heavyweight
So this is a podcast by a guy named Jonathan Goldstein. He has a pleasant voice for the podcast format and his whole schtick is that he just interviews people about the random things in their life. I mean, here's the description of one of the episodes: "20 years ago, Gregor lent some CDs to a musician friend. The CDs helped make him a famous rockstar. Now, Gregor would like some recognition. But mostly, he wants his CDs back."

    Small Town Murder
Two guys who consider themselves comedians laugh and joke about a heinous murder that happened in a bum-fuck nowhere town. But they don't make fun of the victims because--in their own words--we're assholes, not scumbags. That being said, they go through the town yelp pages and give you a feel for the place before diving into what led up to the crime, and sometimes what happened after. It's entertaining on a drive.

Ah, I haven't thought of the Wacom series in a while. It's always pretty amazing what that company comes up with and how long they've lasted. Plus, they can make it really accessible to make art or edit online. I had this tablet from a Chinese company that was similar to a Surface Pro. //laughs hysterically What a trip that device was!
It only got a little tricky when I had to adjust something internally.

Hope everyone's therapy is going well.
No sweat, take your time. We look forward to the fruits of your effort.

Ah, how delicious. I made some cookie dough balls and put them in the freezer for when I have a craving for a hot cookie. I like to put coffee grounds in them because they taste a little more toffee-like to me. I did try the browned butter trend but it didn't make enough of a difference to me to do it again.

I would like to try one of those gochujang cookies I saw online. Although, I have a sneaking suspicion they're not as good as the person pretends they are.

I didn't realize it was a holiday until I noticed I couldn't get a reservation anywhere, haha. I had some hotpot on Friday so it was a pleasant way to avoid the big crowds while partaking a little bit. I think there are a lot of parades going on next weekend.

    Happy LNY, everyone.

@Totalanimefan: I read about that; congratulations. I'm pleased to hear the new job is going well. Is there anything in particular that you like the most?

A friend of mine was just contacted by a firm that turned her down over the summer. Apparently one of their paralegals quit and they want her now. //rolls her eyes into the back of her head

I spent the first of the new year eating and drinking. I think the day of the first was pleasant, but I don't remember it with much particularity. I think I went to a cathedral that morning and then walked around the city for a few hours.

All in all, the new year has been pretty pleasant for me.
Hope the same is for [all of] you.
Ah, thank you for the explanation of the updated system.
@Wildfire: Merry Christmas to you, too.

And I believe I did, haha. Even this morning I was waffling on whether I wanted another cinnamon roll for breakfast. I think it really is just that I don't like all the bread aspects of it.

We have my partner's uncle over and he has brought up that the phone number he is calling for a cousin of his isn't in order? For the last few visits, he rails on how it must be the operator that is blocking him from being able to reach his cousin but all his stories started to sound like she's dodging him and my partner doesn't have the heart to say it.
    Merry Christmas, everyone.
Hope the holiday is going as smoothly as the ice on the roads.
