I'm not a plant person, but I've been getting some interest lately. Back home I used to have a table of orchids in the window and they lasted for several years. I think one at my mother's home is about ten years old now. It was surprising how easy orchids could be.

I wouldn't mind some hanging plants, or even a cute bonsai.

    A legitimate strawberry picking...
I don't know how much to trust this, but I'm fond of strawberries.

I haven't taken an in-depth look at the items, but they were kind of cute if I can recall correctly. I don't know that I would really use any of them, either, but maybe someone else will style them and perk some inspiration.

I think we just used an old sheet, or maybe crumpled up wads of newspaper with tape wrapped around it to make our corpses. In my childhood home, we made fake corpses, then wrapped those up with the cobweb decorations and spread it across the front of the porch. There were also some large spiders tucked in the dark recess of the ceiling of the porch, and a variety of other decorations spread in the yard.

I think the newspaper is cheaper than using a skeleton or body, though.

It's kind of cute, especially if you can make it work with some of the eyes.

I enjoy the banner notifications, but it's a shame that you can't be more selective in which notifications to acknowledge. At least, from what I've seen. It might be nice to check off a site announcement, but keep a notice to reply to someone else later.

That's fair. It's nice to be able to take the time to write out your thoughts and collect yourself. Is the anxiety because you have to think and collect yourself a little bit faster, or because of a fear about someone else's reactions?

I think I oscillated a bit back and forth between being socially graceful and awkward. Generally it depended on whether I was in school and my last stint definitely made me awkward.

@Lina: That's kind of funny to me. I'm definitely more talkative in person than online. Although, I think lately I come off as more standoffish just because of how long it has been on my own.

I tried to use bases once, but I end up sort of going off script, so to speak. Reading the comments about ungrateful patrons who receive freebies made my stomach turn a little bit; I know the feeling all too well. It was strange how different price ranges/availability attracted different types of clients and attitudes. I remember one in particular who openly complained that a piece I was commissioned for was--to put it politely--poor in quality and dynamics.

I suppose I had some kind of vindication years later when I happened across a group of artists who said she was an absolute monster and no one wanted to even communicate with her anymore.

I had many a covid cuts during lockdown. My partner would get flustered with the amount of hair that I have and I would let them cut it. These weren't insignificant cuts, either! I gave myself bangs, which eventually grew out, and then a bob was the last time we cut my hair without a professional. I had a professional haircut a few weeks ago and it was pretty awesome. She finally gave the mop some structure!

I don't think I'll ever dye it an 'unnatural' color again, only because I have to look more professional and blue hair where I work is going to beg for trouble. I still color my hair on my own, only because I've had some hits and misses in a salon and if I'm going to have my hair burnt off I would rather do it myself for a fraction of the price.

@hoovydoobydoo: I didn't even know sugar-coated sunflower seeds were a thing! They sound kind of good, though.

My day was long and flustering, but it’s expected. I’m glad to be relaxing now.

How was yours? The event items are kind of charming, aren’t they?

I'm so mad about the shipping issues I've been having lately. I can't tell if it's incompetence on the part of the shops or deceit by the carrier. Just last night one of my packages was delivered to a neighbor with a personal note from the carrier that it was delivered right at the front door. It certainly wasn't my front door.

I understand how overloaded some of the carriers are, like USPS, but don't lie. This house isn't hard to find, and the numbers are pretty blaring and obvious.

Did you know that once the DMV tried to lie to me about receiving certified mail? It was signed for by a secretary and they swore up and down they had never received it. I had to obtain the signature from the carrier and suddenly I got the, "Oh, yeah, they work here," and an excuse about how there was some kind of construction. Somehow construction on a different floor makes it so that you lie about receiving mail, I guess.

Anyway, I'm just mad about shitty delivery services and then businesses having the audacity to either lie about it or tell you to go door-to-door to neighbors to find what you're owed.
