Thanks for the warning. I don't think I can watch something with cat abuse.

I thought it would just be about cats being their revenge-plotting selves and getting you back when you've already forgotten you petted them while the air was too dry and accidentally shocked them, or when you tripped over them because they decided to stand right behind your feet while you were looking in the fridge.

And I'm glad I could help you feel understood. I've gone through cycles where I've been isolated, both by my own choice and not, and it can feel uncomfortable to get back involved in something that I really enjoyed, even though I really want to.

Sometimes starting fresh has helped me get back into a website or activity I was absent from for a long time. Cleaning is cathartic for me.

That makes sense. The Akata books are set in present day Nigeria, like Harry Potter is set in present day England.

Do you mean not a lot of plot, or not too sad of a book?

My favorite books to recommend are Akata Witch and Akata Warrior by Nnedi Okorafor, if you like Harry Potter and books with magic.

I'm so sorry. I think you're doing the best thing you can - being there for your husband and supporting him in his mourning.

I would be honest with a child, but give them the simplest story you can. Let them ask questions, but don't give them more information if they don't want it. Let them express their grief if they want, but don't be concerned if they don't seem sad, because everyone mourns in different ways.

I hope the love of your friends and family is with you during this difficult time. I'm sure your words and prayers are heard.
