The room had low lighting, but wasn't completely dark. There were no windows though, which to most people wouldn't be ideal, however, he realised that Kaia was a vampire, and it was likely her room... meaning no windows was completely reasonable.

On the bed, he could see the small form of someone, that someone he assumed was Emelie. She was on her side, facing away from the door, and seemed to be curled into a ball.

... He could swear he heard soft quiet cries, as well.

Vae paused.

"... I wonder if Ana has any sort of information." She commented.

"I know that she can't determine everything in the futrue, but MAYBE she can help to shed some light on how to stop the asshole." She added.

"Beyond that, she's in that room there." She told Ash, motioning to the door behind her.

"If you want to see if she's awake or not, go ahead."

"Probably go drain the hell outta Paul again, but yeah, she'll be fine." Vae commented before pausing.

"... Kaori, be a doll and go make sure we've got the blood to give to Paul in the event she knocks him out again, will you?" She asked the pale woman.

"... Someone should. I might as well. Back later." Kaori said before waving and heading off.

"Now that she's gone, I assume we all know who Emelie is." Vaeri then said as she looked between the two.

"Do either of you have ANY ideas about how she could have lost her fucking mana?" She asked.

"Because this is extremely alarming, and I didn't even know it was POSSIBLE for the sisters to lose their mana without being yeeted from their positions. Permanently."

"You're out of date." Vaeri commented from where she was lounging in another chair.

"Kaia hates what caused the vampirism, not that she IS a vampire." She continued.

"The fact that she is one, she hates that because of her mother. However, that's a token thing, I suppose." She azdded.

"That's true." Kaori commented. "K's really good with feeding when she needs to. However... well..." She paused a moment, thinking about th ebest way to say this.

"She's a predator, and Ash? You were just such easy prey there." Vae answered.

"She has a hard time with Paul sometimes too, seeing that he's alive. She doesn't feed as often as she probably should, but she also doesn't starve herself. It's more that she really is a predator, and she's gotta shut THAT side of her up now."

"I'd die for Family." Kaia stated simply as Kaori just took a drink of her still super chilled water.

"Anytime." The asian woman stated.

"Aight, I gotta... fuck. Get out of the room with the beating hearts for a bit." Kaia then said before quickly turning on her heel and leaving through a door on the far wall. Vae just sighed as she did so.

"Sorry about her." She said simply.

Kaia nodded before conjuring flames in her hands. She bounced them before, paying attention to the heartbeat that she could hear from her cousin, hear it slowing down.

It took a bit before it finally reached the point that there was almost too long a delay between beats before she stepped up to him. Everyone could see, extremely clearly, how hard it was at this point for her to bite back the natural predator instinct she had, before she just thrust the mana into his chest, his heart. There was a bit of a sizzle, but they could all see it was happening quick.

Ash was warming up, and Kaia just stepped back. She shoved her hands into her pockets, but that didn't completely hide the twitch from them.

He was easy prey there, and she knew it. However, she was managing to bite it back, somehow.

Kaori just shrugged.

"People say I'm basically ice incarnate." She commented as Kaia approached her cousin and laid a hand on his cheek.

"Jesus, Kaori." She commented. "What the hell did you GIVE him? I've never seen anything from you do this before." She commented, her voice more curious and impressed than alarmed.

"Some super chilled water?" Kaori answered. "You know I don't know what exactly it is that does it."

"I know, I know." Kaia commented before looking to Rene.

"Any ideas for how long with this?" She asked. "Because I can heat him up gradually to avoid shock easily enough. "

"Oh, that's easy." Kaori said as she approached Ash, blowing a light breath onto the surface of the water. The glass was heavily frosted, but it was still liquid within.

"Here. Have a drink." She said simply as she held the glass out to him.

"Might knock you out, because cold, so take a seat first." She added.

"We're part of a thing, yeah." Kaia answered.

"A thing?" a softer voice asked as she approached, a glass of water in her hands that was actively freezing as she approached.

"Yup. Kaori here is the extra bit." Vae commented with a laugh.

"Anyway, Kaori, mind freezing this firey boy here?" She then asked. Kaori just paused, looking to Ash.

"I... what?"

"Huh. Haven't heard of those for awhile." Vaeri commented.

"Yo! Kaori! Where you at!?" She called into the building.

"I think she's in the kitchen." Kaia answered.

"also, I keep forgetting how fucking LOUD you are. No wonder Jun and Paul wanted our room sound proofed." She added, which just caused a bit of a knowing smirk from Vaeri, an expression that was likely very much not missed by Rene.

"Parasite? What?" Vaeri and Kaia asked in unison.

"What's going on now?" Kaia asked, her voiec curious, concerned.

"Seriously. And is there anything I can do to help?"

"I'm sure my sister and I are down to help too. I know I am." Vaeri said as she opened another door, leading to the room where Rene and Kaia were.

"Yo." She said simple. Kaia looked over.

"Ash? What the hell are yoi doing HERE? Babe, why'd you want to call him anyway?" Kaia asked.

"Uh... if I said 'reasons', can we please leave it at that?" Vaeri asked. Kaia just sighed.

"Sure sure, keep your secrets." There was no animosity or whatever to Kaia's voice as she said that, though.

"That's what I've heard here on the surface." Vaeri told him with a nod.

"However, I haven't seen anything, explicitly saying that." She then said. "Or obviously, rather."

"Confirming? Oh whatever. I'm still trying to figure out English." She added with a shrug.

"regardless, yeah. That's what I've heard." She paused a moment.

"She's still out cold last I saw," Vaeri told him honestly, "However, you can at least see she's alive. But... warning." She paused a moment as she started to a door he hadn't noticed.

"She's... she's lost her position." She then said.

"And all her mana. She's a mortal." She added as she opened the door, stepping through it and waiting for Ash to follow before closing it behind him and starting down the hall.

"She has no presence, no mana, nothing."
