Evening everyone. How was everyone's day?

My day was alright for the most part. Day went by fast. Happy to be home though. When you spend the whole day doing the same thing it gets a bit monotonous and boring after a bit.

I'd say it wouldn't hurt to cold stratification the seeds, even if it's a variety that doesn't need it, it would probably germinate better that way.

@Totalanimefan: Approximately 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. And depending on variety, like tulips, a lot of strawberry varieties call for cold stratification in order to properly germinate. You could do so by putting the strawberry seeds in a sealed plastic bag or jar in a freezer for 3-4 weeks, after which point, take them out and leave the bag out, still sealed, for about a day for the seeds to warm again.

The sun is shining today but its still a bit chilly yet.

I may go for a walk later if it ever warms up a bit more today. I need to go outside and water my plants at some point as well.

I'm enjoying my little rose bush I have planted in a pot. I may look for another one that stays around the same size. Its a nice bit of color in the yard.

Morning everyone. How's everyone's day going so far?

My days alright so far. Its my day off from work today. Slept in a bit this morning. Probably going to do some cleaning around the house today. Maybe some yard work outside too if it warms up a bit. Little chilly this morning

Blah. I'm behind on items this event. Anyone know how long we still have to earn currency?

Yeah, went on a trip to the zoo on Saturday with my sister, mom, aunt and two youngest cousins. We went now because we figured it wouldn't be as hot than if we had gone later in the summer. Nope. Mid 90°s in early May. What.

Other than that I feel like I had a semi productive weekend. Got some work done around the yard today. Mowed the grass, I bought a pretty little mini rose bush that's only supposed to get around 1'ft tall and wide planted in a big pot, picked up four bags of potting soil, plant food, and a little garden utility cart from the store I work at earlier since they were having a employee discount weekend, got a raspberry bush I bought a few weeks ago planted in a nice sized whiskey barrel planter.

Afternoon everyone.

Well, I think the cool weather is definitely done for the season here now. It's only the beginning of May and the temp this weekend feels like summer. Mid 90°s out yesterday.

I need it to stay nice out. I've got plants for my landscaping around my house sitting in my bathroom waiting to be planted but its been getting too cold at night yet.

And I just ordered a rose for my landscaping as well.

I wish the weather would make up its mind already about what it wants to do. I wish it would just stay nice out already. Enough of this back and forth weather.

Today was a long but decent day.

Besides my plants for my landscaping that arrived yesterday, I ordered two new house plants the other week. One of the two arrived today. A Calathea with lovely purple backed dark green leaves and pretty pink stripes. Arrived very healthy looking. Just got it into its plant pot. Also ordered a cast iron plant. Still waiting for that yet.

@Totalanimefan: I should have room for them all. There's space in the existing landscaping, and I'm removing some plants from it that aren't doing well or ones there's too many of. All the plants I ordered were perennials, so they'll come back year after year.

@Totalanimefan: I got two Black Pearl Astible plants, a cranberry lace beebalm, a blue Barlow columbine, and blue daisy anemone. Then I picked up two perennial Dianthus flowers from the store the other day. I need to find some white colored flowers to offset all the other colors. Lots of blues. Pinks and purples.

Then sometime in August or September I should get the tulip bulbs I ordered. I ordered Black Parrot Tulips.

They're saying that for here as well. I'm hoping they're wrong. I've really been looking forward to getting things planted outside.
