"Damn it." Rene cursed.

"Should we check on her?" he asked.

"Make sure she's... y'know... okay?" he asked further.

"And if so, which one of us should go?" he then asked.

"You? I mean, she DOES seem to be the closest to you." he reasoned.

"What? Desiree?" Jaden asked.

"No...." he said.

"Why? Should she be?" he asked her.

"I mean... she's probably still tired from moving into her new place, yeah?" he then reasoned.

"....right...?" he then asked, starting to sound quite concerned now.

Rene looked at Kalin, and sighed.

"I'm sure she's fine." he said.

He then paused for a moment, and then sighed again... but this time, more deeply.

"Okay, I'm NOT sure." he went on.

"In fact, I'm very concerned." he admitted, taking his phone out and dialling Desiree's number.

"....now I'm even MORE concerned." he muttered.

"Not getting any answer. It's not even ringing." he told Kalin.

Deryck looked at her with a mixture of anger, confusion, and fear in his eyes.

"NO!" he exclaimed.

"Get away!" he yelled.

"JUST GO AWAY!" he shouted.

"DISAPPEAR!" he then yelled further.

With that, he scrambled to his feet, and bolted. He ran away from her, out of the room, and out of the house...

...revealing that her new phone had been the cracking sound she'd heard when he fell to his ass earlier.

Deryck was now grinding his teeth.

"Free....?" he asked.

"Free!?" he exclaimed.

"Just... just... SHUT! UP!" he yelled.

He then raised the makeshift club again, aiming to slam it down on her face... only to suddenly have a kitten in his face, scratching and biting at him.

"AH!" he yelled, as he stumbled back, before falling on his ass... to which Desiree then heard a loud cracking sound.

"Stupid overgrown rat!" he said, pain in his voice.

She saw rage flare up in her brothers eyes, but when he looked like he was about to swing down and bash her head in, he stopped.

However, he was still shaking.

"....shut... up." he said.

"What... the hell... do YOU know!?" he growled.

"Mother is gone. DO NOT speak of her." he spat.

"I.... I am what is left." he said.

"I am to carry out her will. I am her legacy." he told her further.

"The legacy that YOU stole from me!" he then yelled, as he swung the chair leg down towards her.

Her brother just grabbed at his head, and pulled his hair out some.

"GAH!" he yelled.

"Shut up about that!" he said.

"Shut up about Mother!" he ordered.

"You have no right to say anything about her!" he declared.

"Just... just SHUT UP!" he screamed, his voice sounding ready to crack, as he grabbed one of the broken legs from the chair he'd used earlier.

"I'll MAKE you shut up! Permanently!"

The man growled when he heard that.

"Shut up...!" he ordered.

"Just shut up!" he said.

"Just... just... shut up and DIE!" he yelled.

He then grabbed a wooden chair that was nearby, and lifted it above his head.. before bringing it down on her... hard.

She felt her assailants grip tighten, as they pulled her away from where her phone laid.

"....this could have been so much easier..." they told her.

"But you keep coming back..." he growled.

"Why!?" he exclaimed.

"Why do you insist on.. on..." he went on, sputtering slightly, seeming to grow more and more angry at her.

"EXISTING!?" he finally yelled, before throwing her against a nearby wall.

Just as she started to pat her pockets, she felt someone behind her.

Mostly because they had thrust themselves upon her.

They wrapped an arm around her waist, pinning one of her own arms, and clamped their hand over her mouth and noise.

"....why...?" she heard a voice ask.

"Why didn't you stay gone?" they hissed.

"Why do you just keep appearing again and again!?" they demanded.

When she looked around, she saw... nothing.

Not a thing.

Maybe some things had been knocked about, but that could have been attributed to the kitten being too boisterous with its playing.... right?

However, something seemed... off.

She couldn't say what... but she just felt on-edge.

And everything around her was dead silent.

Just as she glanced at the clock, she heard something.

A thumping noise.

But nothing but quiet, afterwards.

It was as though something... or someone... was trying to be careful not to be heard.

She listened further, before she heard the thumping again... only for it to turn more frantic...

...which was when a small ball rolled into the room, with the kitten chasing it, then pouncing on it.

Jaden nodded.

"Yup." he replied.

"See ya later." he told her.

He then looked around, before shrugging, and throwing an inky blob on the wall, watching it expand into a portal.

"Bye for now!" he finished.

He then waved to her and stepped through the portal, the gateway closing behind him.
