"....." Jaden was silent as he heard that.
"Ah... I..." he stammered.
"Wow." he said.
"He... really did that?" he asked her.
When she nodded, he just sat down and shook his head some.
"....ah.... huh." he mumbled.
"That's... that seems really weird and out of character for him, considering all I've heard of him." he told her.

Jaden's eyes widened when he heard that.
"Wh... what?" he asked.
"He was HERE!?" he exclaimed.
"That's... actually rather worrisome, that he was able to get in here so easily." he admitted.
"But... you don't think you'll need to worry about him anymore?" he then asked.
"Any reason... why?"

"Excuse me... what?" he asked her.
"You don't think it will be unsafe?" he asked further.
"Why?" he then inquired.
"You had barely moved in, and were assaulted." he told her, before shaking his head some. "Kalin and Rene aren't gonna like hearing this..." he muttered.
"But... something tells me you have your reasons..." he then added, scratching his chin a bit, and looking into her eyes.
"Excuse me... what?" he asked her.

I saw it with a friend of mine. Was glad I did it.

"Here." he told her, giving her the food and drink.
"Have you given any more thought to moving back in with me?" he asked.
"It'll be nothing for me to cover the rent for you for however long your lease is." he assured her.
"And we all agree it's not safe for you there."

Inside she found money.
A considerable amount of money.
Around 45 grand, actually.
And there was a note.
You've lost a lot more because of my hacking. This is all I can give back for now.

"I... I lo... lo... l..." he stuttered further, before growling.
"You know what I mean." he said.
"Here." he then said, digging a thick envelope out of his pocket and throwing it onto her bed.
"Take it." he told her.
"It's all I could manage to muster up." he said further.
"Bye." he finished, as he quickly left her room, shutting the door behind him.

Deryck seemed to be getting angrier now.
"See... THIS is the problem." he said.
"You be nice to me. But that confused me. Which angers me. Which results in my getting violent." he went on.
"I need to be alone until I can learn how to properly react to and handle you being nice to me." he said.
"If you want to call this pushing you away, so be it." he then continued.
"But this is what needs to happen." he told her firmly.
"....goodbye, Desiree." he finished, turning around.
"If we see each other again, hopefully I'll be worthy of being called your brother."
"See... THIS is the problem." he said.

Deryck just gritted his teeth when she said that.
"I. Said. No." he told her.
"This is something I need to do on my own." he said.
"Also, you planning to abandon your friends?" he asked.
"Because that's what you're doing if you choose to go with me." he told her.
"There are multiple warrants out there for my arrest." he said further.
"And they won't be overlooked because you say it's okay."
"I. Said. No." he told her.

"No, you will NOT help me get there." he told her.
"I refuse that." he growled... before sighing.
"I don't.... trust myself not to do anything..." he went on, trailing off some. "And you shouldn't either." he warned her.
"Your biggest flaw... yet largest asset... is how you trust so easily." he then said.
"But I digress. I'm going to disappear." he told her. "I'm going to find somewhere that I can figure all this out. Do NOT come looking for me." he warned.
"In all likelihood, we will never see each other again... and maybe... that's for the best." he continued.
"But I need to find out who I am, what I am, and where to go from here." he finished.

"I've hurt you... I've battered you... bruised you... broken your bones..." he went on.
"Even now something inside me is saying to continue what I started, while you're weak." he continued, his voice quavering slightly now.
"Why...? How...?" he went on, looking up at her... and showing her that, even though his expression was angry, tears were streaming down his scratched-up face.
"How can you still be nice to me? Call me your brother?"
"Why!?" he exclaimed.

"I had planned on it." he told her.
"I could end you right here. And disappear once again." he went on.
".........but I can't." he told her, his hands relaxing.
"I.... I can't. I just.... I can't." he went on.
"Every time I imagine doing so... picturing it... getting it done... I have trouble looking at myself in the mirror for a little while afterwards." he admitted.
"I know." he said.
"I had planned on it." he told her.
"I could end you right here. And disappear once again." he went on.
