Rene was silent, and nodded.

"Mm." he mumbled in agreement.

"Thank you once again." he then said.

"We'll contact you if we find out anything." he added with a small wink.

"But I highly doubt it." he sighed.

"Deryck is annoyingly good at making himself disappear."

"Yes, thank you." Rene echoed.

"At least we know for sure who attacked her." he sighed.

"Speaking of Desiree, I should probably head back to the hospital." he went on.

"...she's still unconscious." he said quietly.

"Not sure when she'll awaken."

Rene sighed deeply.

"Clean, huh?" he asked.

"Damn." he said.

"I wish I had an answer." he sighed.

"But there's only one person that does." he went on.

"And odds are we won't be seeing him for a LONG time."

"Mmhmm." Rene responded.

"I hope you find him." he said.

"And HE better hope you find him before me." he went on.

"Because he's gone too far, now." he growled, before looking at Kalin.

"Find anything?" he asked her.

Rene just sighed.

"No." he replied.

"I have some friends that may be able to spot him in the future, but he's slippery." he said.

"It's one of the things he's very good at." he went on.

"....hiding."

Rene's eyes seethed with rage as he saw and heard that the blood belonged to Desiree's brother.

But they then popped open in shock when he heard the next bit of information.

"...D...Diana?" he asked.

"I.... yeah." he said.

"That's... that's Desiree's mother." he told her.

"Well, Desiree and Deryck's mother." he clarified.

About 2 days later, Desiree was in the hospital, still unconscious.

And Rene and Jaden had both set it upon themselves to be Desiree's bodyguards... but Jaden more so, as Rene still had his medical practice to attend to.

However, both he and Kalin had been called up by Averie, and they were currently at the station... where they had been shown the results of the blood that had been tested off of Silver's claws.

There was a lot of info on it, bur all that mattered was the name at the end:

McCormick, Deryck

The kitten was silent for a moment, before it slowly came out from its hiding place.

Which allowed Kalin to see that the blood was on its claws.

But it was clear that it was shaken.

It slowly made its way closer to Kalin, sniffing at her hand.

"Mmhmm." Rene replied.

Just as Kalin got on her knees, she felt Rene vanish, and guessed that he had taken Desiree with him.

And she saw Silver under the chair.

He looked scared, and there were flecks of blood around him.

"Huh? Oh." Rene replied.

"Yeah, sure." he said.

"You do that." he told her.

"I need to get Desiree to OLA." he said further.

With that, he went back to tending to Desiree, and Kalin heard another mewl.

Which seemed to come from under a chair in the living room.

Rene had been busy taking care of Desiree, but stopped when he saw Kalin pause.

"Hm?" he muttered.

"Oh, yeah." he said.

"Yeah, it IS weird." he admitted.

"But what's wrong?" he asked.

"You think they're still around?"

No sooner had he received that information, he used his water mana to get himself to Desiree's apartment.

He appeared at the front door, just inside, and quickly made his way to where Desiree was.

"GOD DAMN IT!" he cursed when he saw her.

"That GOD DAMNED family of hers!" he exclaimed.

"I swear I will find them and take my time gutting them." he growled, as he knelt down and started to examine her.

".....yep." he said.

"She's gonna need to go to OLA."

"Love you too." Rene managed to get out before she left.

He then sighed, and leaned back some, looking at the ceiling.

"....Desiree..." he muttered.

"Please don't have gotten into trouble already." he said.

"You've JUST moved out of Jaden's..." he continued, shaking his head some.

"......" he then got up, and sighed.

"I get the feeling I should be prepared to help her... medically." he lamented.
