the deep sea, especially the darkness of plunging underwater...

by extension: mermaids, sunken ships, and underwater statues. I know those are weirdly specific but they get me immediately anxious.

...Not having control over myself and my life.

...I suppose that's one of the reasons I play so many videogames.

Number one would have to be spiders, with heights following close second.

Someone trying to take my babies and not being able to do anything about it. I used to have others but no others even cross my mind after having kida. Now all my fears are about them.

Being abandoned by the ones I love. Being alone.

Outside of that, though... birds. Specifically emus/ostrages. Also ladders.

I would say failure and random catastrophe. Also seagulls... They're mean and their claws are sharp. And skinwalkers lol.

@Astral ninja: Oh god I know what you mean about skinwalkers. I have some stories of encounters me and my friends have had that leave me so uggh... (although we're still debating if it's skinwalkers or w*ndigo)

@ghost: Well I can help you with the distinctions. Wendigos are typically found in the mountains. They are associated with starvation and cannibalism and their appearance fits the part. They look like tall, mummified, frozen corpses. Some accounts describe them with claws and sharp teeth. They traditionally, do not have antlers. Like a skinwalker, they can mimic voices and possibly change their appearance.
Skinwalkers are like the native American devil, but I almost feel like they are extradimensional, existing partially in this plane of existence and partially in another. They change shape, mimic voices and sounds and often appear with horns, antlers, and other animal features. Sometimes even described like werewolves or big foots, neither fully human or animal. They maliciously stalk humans for various reasons and try to lure them into the darkness. They may travel alone or with a group.
Yes, I seriously believe in the existence of beings like this. I've seen some terrifying things in my lifetime and I am actually going through a series of incidents on my property that make me believe I may have have been found my skinwalkers again. Ugh, scary... :vanora_cry:

@astral ninja: thank you for the clarification. I've looked into it before but I tend to get confused. My Anishinaabe friends would use w*ndigo but some of their encounters sounded like skinwalkers, I wasn't sure.

Mnn I do too honestly. I had a period through high school and college being that skeptical, cynical, atheist asshole type and denying everything, but even during it I secretly believed with all my brittle heart that there's a lot out there beyond our understanding. MN. I've been having issues at this house too so I understand that fear... I think there's been something wandering the woods, animal or otherwise I'm not sure. All I know is it has me on edge at night.

Being forgotten, tight cramped spaces, things falling on me. My biggest fear is having huge derbies fall on me and no one notice im gone and i die slowly under it all.
