@Wildfire: The variables make me nervous because I can see what can go wrong. I'm hoping for the best. Keep things calm and my husband can re-enforce rules if need be. She can be a spit fire sometimes.
@Koah: How old is she again? Spitfire isn't a bad thing as long as it's well-directed (which can sometimes be a challenge). Keeping communication clear will help a lot, imo. I'm sure you'll manage just fine! <3

@Wildfire: She's 14 and hitting puberty pretty hard. Her hormones jump quickly, and her mom can't handle it anymore. Or at least needs distance/a break while those hormones settle a bit. The whole situation is a bit complicated. I'm basically the last resort card for her mom before she sends her daughter off to a teen facility again.

@Koah: Oh yeah... I know that place (been there, done that; wasn't a lot of fun, tbh). I definitely wish you luck! I hope the space and different environment (& guidance) with you helps her process through whatever it is she's going through (and she may not even know what it is, or, in typical teenage style, not want to admit it out loud!). It is possible to work through, IMO. Consistency of expectations and mutual respect go a long way...

I'm here if you want or need to chat (not that I have the answers but I did go through what sounds like a similar situation, and at the very least, have survived the teenage years with my two sons).
