I was (unsurprisingly) on Roli and Mene for a good while, too. Gaia was my first pixel avatar site (Meez was a 3D thing; they started being something for cell phones, got forums, and kinda evolved into an avatar site) but I could never stay on Gaia for long; kept disappearing and then coming back.
My favorite was Crysandrea, but that one unfortunately didn't last long.

My first site, at least the first one recognizable as an avatar site, was Meez. That place was horrible, but it was my "home" from 2007 until it finally shut down. I think I have a love-hate relationship with these sites.

I was on Solia for a while and just didn't get into it. I have so many abandoned accounts over so many sites, I wonder what my cumulative avatar site worth is lmao Too bad I can't remember the login info on most of them.

There are a few still open and even a couple new ones that will show up every now and then, but they don't appeal to me. Gaia seems to have the most variety, but I don't wanna touch that site with a 10-foot pole.

I guess "never say never", but I'm pretty sure Voltra will be my last avatar site. I feel like I outgrew them years ago but just keep coming back because they're kind of fun and nostalgic.

I can't even honestly say I loved the site, even though I was on it from p much day one til it closed, and it was my only avatar site for a little while... I just got used to it I guess lol. But didn't really have any friends there, despite being weirdly invested in its economy and how it was being run and all that fun stuff. It's like living in a particular state/city. You care how it's functioning because you live there.
I was hoping to do one last big art contest or something before it shut down, cause I sensed the impending end a while before it actually happened... but I couldn't get everything ready in time and all my fancy items went to waste, alas.

Sometimes I start to look for an item in my inventory and then I remember... that was an Ernya item :'^(

Posted in A Clawful Catastrophe Posted 4 years ago

This kinda makes me miss Ernya, ngl you could do some p funny stuff with the items on there.

Posted in A Clawful Catastrophe Posted 4 years ago

It is exhausting and i'm p sure i got misgendered enough in one hour to last me a lifetime
now maybe i can draw :'^)

OK I tried again and chose a different menu option this time, and FINALLY managed to get through to someone who could cancel my policy. Still could barely hear her, so I probably missed some info, but afaik it'll be done by the end of today and I'll get refunded for the part of the month that I won't be covered for since I already paid for it. She said something about checking with the insurance company to confirm coverage after a month but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be covered already since my effective date for my new insurance was over a week ago; I just didn't have time to call and cancel my old policy before the new one started. ...Turns out I could have called at night, as they are a 24/7 number, but the customer service number on my insurance card was not, so I had no way of knowing this because I didn't know that was the wrong number to call.

anyway, tl;dr: insurance headache is (hopefully) finally over. now i can get on with what's left of my day.

I tried to use the email function on their website and it gave me a drop-down menu for the reason for emailing. I chose "Cancel my Plan" and it closed me off from sending an email, saying I had to do it on the main healthcare website. So I followed that link, which of course just has the broken "Select your reason for cancellation below" with NOTHING TO SELECT FROM on it. No way to email customer service from that page, no customer service email printed anywhere that I can see.

Insurance as a whole is one big scam tbqfh. But we gotta do what we gotta do since a single doctor visit will land you in debt for life.

well, guess I'll be stuck paying them half my income forever. i can't get through no matter what. first they don't take calls on weekends, now after a ten minute struggle with the robot menu and an obnoxious operator with poor reception, I get put on hold and sent to a second operator who apparently can't hear a word I'm saying. I hung up in a rage and idk what to do now. There's no way of getting through without a phone, and doing it through the phone does not work.

Yeah, insurance is a huge pain. I really hope this is the last time I have to change mine, at least for the next few years. At this point I'm just losing money and not even getting all my medications.

Kitty headbutts are special

And now to call and try to cancel my insurance, bc the website seems to have removed all links for easy cancellation for some reason.
