@Totalanimefan: I just finished the Demigods Academy series by Elisa S, Amore and Kiera Legend. It was really good. Before that i read the first artemis fowl book, and before that i was reading the dark world series by Michelle Maddow, but i was reading those before my visit with my mom. I'm about to read the trials of apollo by rick riordan, and then once i'm done with those i may read the next artemis fowl book, or i might find something else. Don't quite know yet.
@Totalanimefan: yeah definitely. Sorry for the delayed reply, i was reading XD I just read a 12 book series in 3 days. Also thanks! I'm happy with how it turned out! (i bought those ears the same day though lol)

@Synth: I guess it just depends on where in california and when. Idaho always had cool nights, never being warmer than 65 at night in the middle of summer on the hottest days (cause desert climate). Summer nights were always the best for sitting outside or sleeping outside (in a tent in the back yard or on patio furniture.) and when i got older (after graduating high school) there would be times i'd just go for a walk at like 3 am (i lived in a very safe neighborhood). I did that in winter too, though, usually to my friend's house, cause they were always up late.
@Totalanimefan: Yeah, my sister told me that it was in like the 90s in Wisconsin a couple weeks ago too, but they've been having weird bipolar weather because it snowed the next day. My mom said Its been a really long winter for Idaho because it was still snowing a couple days before she left and it's practically unheard of to have snow that late in the year, especially snow that sticks. So it seems like the country hasn't made up it's mind yet about the weather and what it's supposed to be doing.

Edit: Also, for my disney pictures and piercing, go here: https://imgur.com/a/yGfPe9G
@Synth: Yeah, it's surprising that the weather has been so hot in the southern half of the US lately. I know southern california is usually pretty hot, but i feel like it being in the 90s already is a bit much. Ironically, Florida is just about on track weather wise, if not a couple weeks early. still gross and hot, but it's really rather expected in Florida. I remember when i was a kid my mom took me and my sibling to disneyland and it was hot, but not unbearable. Maybe it's cause i was a kid and didn't mind the heat if i was having fun. I also remember going to the hotel after the day at disney and going swimming at night and it still being warm out, which was weird to me because Idaho (where i grew up) has hot days and cold nights in the hotter months.

Honestly, i hate being hot, but i found anything below 85 was bearable for me last week, and i think a big part of that is because of my mother in law keeping the house at 77 or higher any time she's home.
@Totalanimefan: Yeah, it sucked. I rarely have nightmares, at least, but it was really vivid.
awesome! That's super exciting! Yeah, September/August is pretty awful here. I struggled a bit with the weather here last week with it being so hot. But it was a lot of fun. I'm sure you and your friends will have a blast when you go!
@Totalanimefan: mom arrived earlier in the day than expected, which was cool. We had a ton of fun at disney, discovery cove, and universal. We also went to an art festival, i got a tragus piercing, and we went kayaking (which i had never done but i absolutely loved) and saw a couple dinner shows. Capone's was the best one. it was really entertaining. We got rained out monday when we were supposed to go sailing, but it ended up being okay because we needed a "rest" day. we went minigolfing instead at congo river, which was fun. Got rained on a little at the beginning, but it was only a light sprinkle so it wasn't annoying. She goes home early in the morning, at like 7, so we said our goodbyes around 7:30pm and she went to return her car rental and got an air bnb for the night so she could nap before heading to the airport at like 4 am.(here in like 10 minutes). it was a good visit, but it was realllllly nice being able to sleep in my own bed (until the nightmare i had about my gf dying in my arms. that sucked and was kinda traumatizing.)Now i've calmed down from that nightmare i'm about to go back to bed. I'll share a picture tomorrow of my piercing (and the meet and greet with minnie) if i remember lol
@Totalanimefan: Yeah, that can be rough to not have an example from her mom because people definitely learn and then teach from experiences. With my MIL, i think it's a BIG part of why she is the way she is. But also she struggles with her mental health because her family seems to look down on psychiatric help/aids, even though her second child had down syndrome (she passed away when she was like 3 months old, on Halloween). I don't get that family's aversion to psychiatry. Luckily my husband isn't like that.

In other news, my mom is currently sitting in portland, OR waiting for her flight to orlando.I'm super excited, and have MOSTLY finished packing my clothes for the trip since i won't be home until she leaves. I've also planned my disneybounds (the skirt i made, i have a yellow dress and a matching scrunchie, a green dress that matches the style of the yellow dress that gives me merida vibes (it got noticed by peter pan last year and he said i look just like his shadow, which i loved), and i have a baby blue spaghetti strap shirt that i'm pairing with my light colored jeans for a cinderella vibe) and i'm going to wear my space dress when i go to the kennedy space center next weekend. I'm waiting on a load of laundry right now so i can pack my husband's clothes for the days he's joining us lol, and then i have to run through my list (and make said list lol) of non clothing items, and then i'll be done packing!

Mom's flying standby so if she is able to get on the flight tonight and isn't bumped, then she'll have a long wait at the airport/car rental place since she can't get the rental until 2 or 3. Which actually ends up being lucky for me because I forgot to close the washer lid and i have a couple shirts in there that i don't trust in the drier (cause of the design. i feel like if it was put in the drier it would peel or flake off and i don't want that since they're Tyi's favorite shirts) so they need to air dry.
@Totalanimefan: Yeah, my mom says that a lot of parents don't know how to let their kids be adults, and that most haven't been taught how to do so. My mom has had a lot of help with my older sibling and myself with how to raise us and how to allow us to be adults. I was in counseling and had PSR workers a lot when i was a preteen, and my older sibling had the same, but for longer, since they're autistic and needed more help. A big part of all of that was also the psr workers teaching my mom how to be a better parent and how to let me and my sibling become adults and to allow us to be independent. Most parents don't get that, so it's harder for them to let go. I think a lot of parents don't know how to stop parenting their kids as children. I think that's part of why my mother in law butts heads with her grown kids (and myself) and why my gf's dad is always on her case about everything she does that he doesn't like.
@Totalanimefan: I got lost in books again! So it ended up not being the landlord, but the appliance repair tech who just cleaned the dryer vent. Our dryer hasn't been hooked up to it since tyi's mom moved in because it was clogged, so it's nice to have that done. I see you had a good time with your mom, that's always nice. I completely understand the argument thing- it's rare that my mom and i don't get into it at least once when she visits; usually it's cause she needs things explained when she's wrong so she can understand, but she doesn't like it lol I'm getting excited for my mom's visit though. She should be here early on sunday, but her rental car isn't going to be available until about 2 or 3, so she said "so I will go to Fox and stare at their ugly faces all morning. Don't know what else to do." She's funny and has a sick sense of humor that catches tyi off guard a lot. it amuses me. So once she gets the rental, she's going to come pick us up. Tyi's only doing the first two days with us, and the last two days of her trip. i will be spending the whole trip with her.
@Totalanimefan: Thanks! It turned out better than i hoped, though i might adjust the waistband a little. After wearing it it tends to sort of scrunch up a bit. Sorry for the delay on response, i lost myself in reading a few books and playing minecraft/among us/fall guys. The landlord is coming tomorrow morning and it always makes me anxious when landlords stop by, even if nothing's wrong. She's just doing a walk through before my mother in law signs the new lease, so at least it's not that big of a deal. We just have to clean our rooms and the bathroom tonight. In other news, my mom's going to be here in 2 weeks and i'm getting excited.
@Totalanimefan: possibly. i feel like it's happening there late this year, but i'm not sure. it's been a long time since i've gone to it, even before i moved to florida.i always thought it was late april to mid may. i could be wrong though.
oh! yeah, sunhaven is a LOT of fun. i've gotten burnt out with stardew, but sunhaven still keeps me entertained.
it's a square with a hole in the middle, making it the easiest skirt i've ever made
not sure why this one is such a small picture, but this is the whole outfit
and the skirt flared out a bit more organically than the one where i'm showing it's a square

oh yes! It has a pocket that hides quite well. i just used the scraps from what i cut out for my waist to make the pocket and turns out it's the perfect size/shape!
@Totalanimefan: Hopefully it's soon. What game is it?
yeah, it's been really nice the last few days. I don't mind the rain, so long as it cools things off a little. Which is partly what happened. It rained yesterday and drizzled a little tonight. I decided against putting the other fan facing outwards because it's realllly cold in here. I have pants, slippers, a jacket and a blanket on me and i'm still cold. it's so nice. Tomorrow is the last day of the actual cold front, but the nights will be nice this week at least.
ooh! Super nice! I hope you enjoy them! In idaho there's actually a cherry festival in Emmett but that won't happen until closer to mid June. Emmett is where the "rich"(upper middle class) people live so it's a pretty nice city(town?). One of my high school friends had a cherry tree in their backyard, and i loved seeing it when it bloomed. It smelled so nice.
I've all but finished the skirt i'm making. Tomorrow i just have to take my serger and finish the raw edges of the seams. I have to figure out the proper tension settings first though. I think I'll probably look up recommended settings tomorrow. But as far as it looks, it's completed. I need to get it serviced though, because it doesn't sound the best. it's quite noisy. But that's kind of expensive.
@Totalanimefan: I hate when that happens with games. Controller support is so important. I got PlateUp! a few days ago and it's been really keeping my attention, which is nice. I'm trying to get through today because tomorrow's weather will be nice and "cold." It's only going to get up to like 63 i think tomorrow, and then monday it's only going to be 70 for the high. I'm excited for it. I'm gonna freeze my MIL out lol I'm opening the windows as soon as i wake up. She can close them at night if she wants, but the office will be cold. I'm even going to put our second box fan in the window pointing out so it cycles the air a bit better. it's good to hear you're feeling more confident in your job duties. it's always nice when you feel like you're getting the hang of things, for sure. Oh yeah, that's right! The cherry blossoms are going to bloom soon! I remember how excited you were for it last year.
@Totalanimefan: Yeah, we found out that it's not too bad on 2, so we're keeping it on 2. How have you been, btw? Anything interesting happen lately?
