"He is." Uriel replied.

"EZEKIEL!" he then called out.

That's when they heard quick footsteps coming towards them, and Zeke showed up.

"Ah... yes?" he asked.

"What is it you wanted to see me about?" he asked Syraene, before looking at his father.

"And... did you forget to say something earlier?" he asked him, a bit more timidly now.

".....wait, what?" Zeke asked.

"That's..." he said further, trailing off at the end.

"But... why?" he then inquired.

"You've proven you can use it." Uriel responded.

"I wasn't capable of it before?" Zeke asked, slowly grabbing the blade by its hilt.

"You were. I didn't say you weren't 'capable of using it'. I said you CAN use it." Uriel said.

"Gabe's just a stubborn idiot." Uriel muttered.

"...be careful." he then said.

"Ezekiel, I want you to come back. Don't you dare make your mother cry." he warned.

"......" Zeke was silent for a moment, before Syraene saw that final flash of enlightenment in him.

"I won't." he said.

"I promise." he told Uriel.

"That's what I wanted to hear." Uriel replied, before he disappeared from where he was in a pillar of light, returning to where the other archangels were.

Zeke nodded after a moment.

"Yeah." he said.

"I'm good." he told her.

"....this blade is heavy, though." he then said, looking at the sword.

"And I don't mean in weight." he went on.

"I feel... like wielding this is like having the weight of the world on one's shoulders." he continued.

"But... yes. I'm good. And I'm ready." he told Syraene.

"Do you have a plan?" he asked.

"......uh... right then." Zeke responded.

"Straight down... fifth left." he said.

"I assume I'm not to just charge in?" he asked.

"If your statement of meeting me there is anything to go by, anyway." he added.

"Know what, I'll wait. And I won't hold you up any longer." he told her.

He then started to make his way down the corridor, on the lookout as he walked.

'Strange... this place seems... empty...' he thought.

When she got to the door, she found that Zeke was not there.

Nor did it look like he had ever been there.

Which really only meant one thing... he'd taken a wrong turn somewhere.

And so he had. He wasn't sure where he'd gone wrong, but he was now wandering the corridors, trying desperately to find where Syraene had directed him to.

"...how did I misremember that? She said the fifth left, and I'm sure I took it." he told himself, not realising he'd taken the SIXTH left.

Just then, a pair of her 'staff members' showed up, and started charging towards him, aiming to take him down.

"Oh, great..." he mumbled, shaking his head and easily overpowering them when they got close enough.

Zeke just sighed when he saw Syraene.

"I figured as much." he said, making his way over.

"And yeah, I'm fine." he told her.

"Those guys were nothing to me." he continued.

"They seemed like weak fanatical berserkers, essentially."

"Ugh." Zeke groaned.

"I swear I took the fifth left, as you said." he commented.

"Guess I didn't." he muttered.

"All right, then lead me to where I should be." he told her.

"Let's finally get this done with, and put something to rest."

"....not... really..." Zeke replied.

"I really just planned to exert ALL my physical prowess here, and strike her down before she could react." he went on.

"...or before she can use her mental voodoo on me." he then added uneasily.

At that point, the blade started to pulse and glow a little, and Zeke looked at it.

"...but somehow I get the feeling that the blade will help protect me from that..." he mumbled further.

"...." Zeke was silent, before sighing.

"Right." he said.

"Might as well just throw away proper manners and such here." he muttered. "No matter HOW I enter, she'll know I'm here." he reasoned.

"Stand back." he told Syraene.

When she did, he raised his leg, and kicked the door as hard as he could, sending it swinging open, before stepping inside the room.
