"....I... see." Jake responded.

"That... KIND of answered my question." he said.

"May I ask how you got here?" he then asked.

"I mean, you may have been told you could leave, but does anyone know you're HERE?" he asked her further.

"Because I'm willing to bet that Hal isn't expecting you." he went on.

"Not... that that's an issue. You know he'll always welcome you." he added with a warm smile.

Jake's heart almost ripped in half when he heard that.

He didn't know Liv really well, but he knew her well enough. And hearing that made him feel immense and intense sadness.

"Ah... I..." he stammered.

"That... I'm sure Hal will do something about that." he said.

"He's got to." he added, as they got close to his office.

"Do you want something to drink while you're here?" he asked, offering hospitality, and trying to keep her spirits up.

Jake bit his lip slightly.

"Ah." he stammered.

"Ah, yes, I'll get you some water." he told her.

"As for Zeke, Hal will answer any questions you have." he went on.

"Just... know that he isn't ignoring you." he then assured her.

"He would never do that."

"It certainly is." Jake agreed.

"Ah, one second." he then said as they passed a vending machine. He stopped and put some coins in it, causing a bottle of water to drop out.

He then grabbed it, and the two of them made their way to Hal's receptionist's office. Once they were there, Jake handed her the water, and told the receptionist what was going on.

She nodded in response, and Jake made his way back to her.

"All right, you should be able to see Hal in a matter of minutes." he assured the girl.

Jake just smiled in response.

"I'm flattered." he said.

"And... she'll come back. You'll see." he finished.

"Enjoy the water." he then finished, before he needed head off, so he did.

Sure enough, about a minute later, the secretary told her she could enter.

"Go on." she said with a smile.

"Do you need help with the door?" she asked.

"Haillie is an old friend of mine." Hal said to Liv. "We go WAAAY back." he chuckled, before he suddenly looked serious.. and concerned.

"Anyway, what is it, Liv?" he asked.

"I wasn't expecting you here." he said. "Which... is understandable, actually." he muttered.

"Is... something wrong?" he then asked her.

"You look like something's weighing heavily on your mind."

"........." Hal was just silent, before getting up from behind his desk, making his way over to Liv, kneeling down beside her, and placing a hand on one of hers.

"Of course you're safe here." he said.

"And... well... Zeke's currently having some injuries tended to." he then informed her. "He's fine, don't worry, just... a little preoccupied..." he understated.

"I'm here for you, Olivia. I always am, and always will be." he continued.

"...it must be getting really bad for you to make your way out to the Unit like this, though." he then added quietly.

Hal almost couldn't bear to hear this. It was gut-wrenching and heart-breaking.

"...Olivia..." he said quietly, before leaning in and carefully giving her a hug.

"I know." he told her.

"It'd be too much to go back there without her." he said further.

"I'll do everything I can to help." he went on.

"You can stay with me if you like."

"Well... MY house is always open, but it might not be the best option, as nobody's really home that much." he admitted.

"I can let you stay in one of the dorms here." he then offered.

"I have special ones that will allow you to be more independent... ie: things are in reach and such." he went on.

"And they're closer to the cafeteria as well, so getting something to eat will be easier." he added.

"Is that all right?" he asked.

Hal shook his head.

"There's nothing to apologise for." he assured her.

"Hallie, would you mind waiting here for me?" he then asked Haillie.

"I'm going to get Liv set up in a dorm here, and we can continue where we left off when I return." he said further.

"Is that all right?"
