@Vixen: Good Tedtalk was good. lol
It makes me wonder how the groups can even form when it's so hard and takes a lot of work. 0-0

@decomposer: lol don't forget about us, don't forget about me <3 Thank you! I like the peach on your head.

@xvz: Yeah I watched the first day, but all of the GOP were just complaining about being censored or whatever, and I was like that has nothing to do with anti-trust, did you just come here to bitch? I feel like I don't know enough about anti-trust law to have an informed opinion. I do wish that privacy was a bigger issue. It's starting to become one, but places like FB just don't give a fuck. I hate it when I like a company or an app and then they get bought out by a company I don't like, Whole Foods being bought by Amazon. What's App being bought by FB.
I haven't been to that many, only during the years I was here for vacation. I haven't been to one since moving here. They where closed obvs, and they did just recently reopen but it's hard to get a limited ticket (which is still free, it's just so they only have a few people in an a time). I've been to the Hirshorn, Natural History Museum, Botanical Gardens, Spy Museum (Not free, but worth it) and I think that's it. I've also seen almost all the monuments and the national mall a few times. Oh and the White House in 2017.

@xvz: twitch is a platform no longer just for gaming. You do have your gaming streams, tabletop games, and streams that cover esports. But you also have people that play live music and do art, sewing and crochet and other creative things.

Oh I forgot to mention there are also driving streams and even a hitchhiking stream. And one I follow goes out with a metal detector looking for lost artifacts and another that feeds stray cats

yeah i think privacy will be one of those things in the future where we're like, remember when that was a thing lol... the way we look back and are like, remember before climate change??
but idk, i know there are ppl who care abt privacy who are working towards making it better, but it seems like the average person may not think too much about it?

true museums are starting to open - i read that the risk of going to a museum is similar to outdoor dining?

i'd love to visit a botanical garden before it gets too cold!

@xvz: mmm I typically watch a lot of WLOP's speedpaints. And whatever timelapses are on instagram.

@Totalanimefan: Because everyone wants loot, so attempts will be made. But getting a team together to accomplish a goal isn't specific to games, so raids are just a microcosm of a lot of real world problems lol It's absolutely fascinating to watch. At the end of the day, you have to find enough people with the same mindset and goals as yours to really form a good team. It's not so different in any other teamwork things or work things etc. I guess people are little more self-centered because it is just a game, and that's fine, but at what point does that mean you stop treating other people as people and as npcs instead?

@shadami: oh that's cool i hadn't heard of that! i'd love to check out some art / crochet / sewing / creative streams, do you have any you'd recommend?
i love the idea of the cat one too, if you remember the channel i'd love to take a look too :0 actually all of the ones you mentioned sound interesting Lol if you have them on hand i'd love to check them out!

@vixen: ooh i have seen some of those! so good
it's interesting how the process for painting can be v different than the typical sketch/lineart/flat/shade process
like sometimes when ppl are painting, the painting looks really bad at some points lol ... but the end result ends up being spectacular
i feel like painting styles can be like more risk but more reward?

@xvz: I mean if it's a work in progress, then it doesn't really matter what it looks like from the perspective of a final result. As long as the stuff in the WIP is serving a purpose towards the final thing, then it's good. Whether the stuff in a WIP is useful or not depends on the person of course. Like WLOP tends to block out a lot of forms in greyscale which is a popular method of setting up well-defined compositions without the distraction of color.

@vixen: i think for me w painting - the nonpainting/lineart way tends to feel a lot more straightforward, like i have a good idea of what each step looks like and whether or not it looks good, i can stop at any point and the result is what it is - like oh this lineart looks good i can stop here, or oh i can stop after flatcolor, etc.
but w painting i feel like i have to "finish" it or else it potentially might not really look like anything - like if i stop halfway through it could just be like a blurry blob
i think for me it matters as far as like ... motivation? like painting can feel discouraging bc it can look p bad if you don't keep going

i've seen the greyscale approach but haven't tried it myself :0

@xvz: yush I know what you mean! I get really satisfied once I get to the flat color stage after line art even though I know I still have to do the shading lol It's probably because that's at the point when "everything starts coming together". But when I do painty things, I just go at it until it looks approximately right and definitely have a lot more scrap pieces of half finished paintings

@xvz: oh yeah I've tried the greyscale approach once. It was definitely interesting and I think it's a really good approach for more realistic paintings simply because realism tends to have a lot of grey tones even in the colors (lower saturation). But I also really like drawing fantastical stuff, which means using garishly bright and saturated colors lol.

I'm thinking though. Most of my unfinished paintings are all digital paintings. I've finished every physical painting I've done because I always work on exactly one canvas at a time and I'm much better at breaking down the painting in parts (e.g. sky and clouds today, midground next week, etc) vs digitally I'm like YOLO LET'S DO IT ALL RIGHT NOW.

@Vixen: You made a good point. What role do you play in your guilds?
@xvz: I really hope in the future we can be like remember climate change? That would be nice. XD I agree that people really don't care about it and they don't really think about it either. Kinda scary. The Botanical Garden is open all year. The outside doesn't have much but there is a ton of different rooms/greenhouses that are pretty all year round. I went Jan 1st.
@MoodyBats: How do you decide what to draw? (If drawing is the kind of art that you do)

@Totalanimefan: I mostly exist as a senior member, so I can answer most in-game questions about end-game gearing for entry-level raiding and a lot of miscellaneous historical details of the game, but I don't really take leadership roles within my particular guild. Our leadership tends to be very non-existent and hands-off; hierarchically very flat-structured. Then again, my guild is a very casual, social-based guild with very few hardcore endgame players and we don't really organize or run raids that require strong leadership. Honestly, it's not even that active anymore, but it's the only guild that felt like a home, so even I'm out and about flirting with other raid guilds, I always come home LOL. The server is small anyway, so most casual raiders (like me) are part of informal Discord groupings rather than a dedicated raiding group. The hardcore raiders all have dedicated guilds and set groups though, and I'm not really part of those. I occasionally fill for them as needed and if availability works out.

wow that sounds really nice! not sure why but I always thought DC was coastal ALDFKJ my geography is not good
does it snow in DC? bc then you'd get all 4 seasons and cherry blossom season, and that sounds amazing
ahhh I love museums esp free ones I could spend a lot of time in them and probably go back multiple times. which museum is your favorite?

I think DC is coastal ISH. It has a river or something that comes into it from the ocean.
If my brain has the correct vacation i took . xD I may be merging it with a Philly trip though? Maybe. But that doesn't seem right, I'm pretty sure it was the DC trip.
