It can be a weird night to go out, tbh. As of right now, we don't have any plans either. We might go get dinner someplace, but that will probably be the extent of our festivities...

I'll probably just watch a movie, play video games, or do some new year cleaning. Lol write down my New Year goals.

Those are all good things to do, imo. There's just something about the year switching that makes a certain amount of introspection and goal-planning seem appropriate (outside of the whole cultural tradition of setting resolutions)

Yep. Though I don't really do resolutions, just goals. That way I don't feel so bad if it doesn't happen.

I don't do resolutions either - there's too much pressure associated with your list if you use that term! XD

Exactly. And I always through silly simple fun ones, because small victories make you feel pumped up for the bigger victories.

@Wildfire: Also quiet for me, but nice. I got a new video game on Christmas morning so that made it really feel like Christmas lol. I like your new avatar! It's cute. ^^

Exactly. That's a great tactic to use (and it actually works!)

@Totalanimefan: hey Total! A new video game is usually fun! What did you get?

@Wildfire: Brain vs Brain. It's a cute game for the Nintendo Switch and you can train your brain to be better at certain things, and/or you can take on other people head to head in little mini games (the same ones used for training your brain)

@Totalanimefan: oh that sounds like it could be a lot of fun actually! What do you think of it so far?

@Wildfire: I like it a lot and it was on sale for $15 so it was a steal. ^^

@Wildfire: Thanks. Do you have a favorite gift that you got this Christmas?

@Totalanimefan: I got some jewelry, so that was nice. Beyond that, there wasn't much tbh, but that's fine.

@Wildfire: That sounds nice. I told people I didn't want a ton of stuff this year, and anything I got I wanted it to be useful. ^^

@Totalanimefan: yup that was pretty much my approach this year too. I just didn't have the patience for frivolous stuff...

@Wildfire: Same. Like last year my mom got me a bunch of cheap candy (that I don't really care for) and like other small useless things from Amazon so that we had 'a lot of gifts to open' honestly, most of them just went into the trash in the end. Even as a kid I would rather have had one new Pokemon game then a bunch of different small things to open like candy, socks, gel pens, new swimsuit, etc.

@Totalanimefan: exactly. I would rather buy or receive a few things that mean something, are thoughtful, or just plain useful, than a bunch of candy or knick knacks. Plus, I don't really buy candy anyway...

@Wildfire: 100% me. I don't really eat candy anyway. If I do have chocolate and it's a nice chocolate bar from a maker. I'm not about to use up my daily calories and sugar on gross, cheap, American candy lol
And I don't want a bunch of junk in my house either.
