"And.. just try. That's all I Can ask." She continued.
"And all I expect from you. I just want to see you move past what you're still holding on it. I forgive you for taking off so long ago, if that matters." She added. She reminded him semi regularly, at least a few times a year, but she never thought it was enough. She wanted to show that she forgave him, but had no ideas how to show such a thing.

They sat, ate and chat, for a bit, before they parted ways. Jaden, being the gentleman he was, did drive Desiree home, though.
The next day, Jaden woke late in the day to a text from his mother, someone he had been too caught up with company to realise that he hadn't gotten a response yet.
Would knowing actually make any sort of difference in your life?
