If I drive into the city I can go to Lake Michigan in Chicago, but those beaches are very crowded and kinda dirty from so many people.
In one of the suburbs they turned an old quarry into a beach. It's basically a giant cement pool, that's shallow on one side and gradually gets deeper, all the way to 11 feet. And they filled the bottom with sand and added a huge sand beach along the 'coast'. It's not natural water, it's chlorine water. But it's clean and not too crowded, so that's where I go when I can.

Looking at previous beach conversation, I live minutes from the beach but don't go very often. Mostly because I'm afraid of the crowds right now. But if I do go, I try to go when it's starting to get cooler during the day so there's not as many people.

It depends on the nature of the crowd for how I'll feel about it.
Like one of my favorite atmospheres is a concert. I go to a rock music festival every year (except this one of course) and I absolutely live for the vibes I get from it.

I was going to go to one of those this year too, but of course that got cancelled too and I was so bummed. </3
But I'm sure there will be more cons in the future that I can go to once this all clears up.
