oohh a lot of fantasy ? i read invisible cities by calvino for a class once :0 it wasn't like a novel though, iirc it was like each chapter was a small world?? the class was digital illustration orrr smthg and the prompt was to pick one of them and illustrate it i think? ^^
i've been reading octavia's brood (short story anthology, speculative fiction) and a hundred years of solitude (gabriel garcia marquez, magic realism) currently! i think before that i was reading pet by akwaeke emezi (so good!!) and iq94 by murakami (i'm v close to the end but never finished lol)
i like that u stopped when u weren't enjoying a book! lol
no need to keep going just for the sake of it...
and thank u!!! i was super anxious abt it cuz i was like so many things can go wrong lol ... luckily i am finally on the other side :-) i've only been here a little over a day but i feel like it's been a while already lol ... time is so unreal haha
i'm only here for two months, i'm going back early feb :0
and omg tysm!!! yeah i remember that first piece i did for u, i feel like embarrassed ahahaha i was so rusty with painting honestly ...
i still don't have a standard process down but it is starting to feel less daunting / am learning to trust the process a bit more / try to push past the "ugly" stage of paintings lol
(oops i intended to keep this post short and it got v long ahaha no pressure to reply to all of it)

hachi oohh yeah it was good, i think you would like it since u like spicy and sweets lol
idk if i could eat more than a serving of it at once tho, u start to feel a burn after a while lol
hmm ice cream ... i like having like crunchy chocolate chips in there lol ... like a mint chip
(controversial i know)
my favorite flavor used to be ben and jerry's chocolate brownie one but it's sooo rich to me now lol ... i think i've gotten a diff flavor the last few pints i've bought :0
cookies and cream is a forever classic!
i like my bananas slightly underripe too :-D

honestly i'm not even sure what my process is like lmao, i still do it slightly differently every time haha @@ still figuring it out tbh
but typically i do:
1) sketch
2) flats
3) shading ?? (but sometimes i shade in the sketch phase instead)
4) layer on top for paintover , painting on one layer
5) post processing (lots of clipping mask layers and overlay/soft light w fun colors)
6) final step: canvas texture on multiply + add noise
i've been experimenting tho, i used to do everything on one layer but more recently i've been using separate layers for diff colors? honestly i don't know what i'm doing Lol
for brushes i usually use textured brush packs i found for free online
i haven't used the same ones every time tho, some don't come w good opacity/flow/size pressure so i just kind of pick one at random and see if it works or not lol (sometimes it doesn't!)
more recently i've been going back to the default brushes though (the circles and the airbrush circle), kind of like to brush up (aha) on basics lol
hmm what else ... i usually save a piece after each phase, and i'll also group stuff and merge together before moving on to the next phase ... i have progress files for the last painted piece i did (the one on the first post of this thread - can click to see it in full ^^) and i thought abt compiling them and posting in my gallery thread ... but i was like does anyone even look at this thread lol idk if worth the effort ...
w/ painting i always feel like there's an "ugly phase" and i always wanna quit lol but i'm glad i don't and keep going! i think the post process stuff makes a big diff for me too so i gotta make sure i get there :0

omg woah ... i'm too much of a hoarder to delete everything lol
but i do have everything read!! i use unreads to keep track of stuff i have to do / respond to etc. and will try to have like single digits unreads at all times
i think 'archive' is like a good middle ground ?? like it declutters but you could get it back if u really needed to

do u follow a set process for ur art pieces ?? :0 i really enjoy ur style
lool that's nice too that it's a way to keep in touch!! one of my friends left the city this year to stay w family and we use it as a way to like, catch up n stuff :3

ohh yeah like there's not one big streaming monopoly (kind of ..... yet .... ) ... i feel like it can be good and bad lol
kind of like how i feel abt messaging apps?? having multiple is less convenient for sure but if there was a single monopoly on it i would be stressed lol

my friend worked at a bakery where they had a sweet corn ice cream ?? it was not bad but i again probably wouldn't get a pint of it lol
i haven't had a frozen jelly cup in a while but i remember it being a nice frozen treat!!! great for summer
(or maybe good yearround for u hachi lol)
