Doin' alright.
Enjoying the dappervolk event that's currently going on.

Glad that the day is over because it started out absolutely exhausting.

I get past that by ordering all my stationery by when I bought it and forcing myself to use it in that order. That way I know I'll eventually use all of it and I won't be as tempted to stash some or only use a particular kind.

Most of my stationery use is for penpals or my bullet journal.

I thought I would get more addicted to online stationery stores like jetpens for buying stationery during the pandemic but.... nope. I think because I'm at home with everything I already own it's easier to tell myself I don't need anything else loool.

I miss fun shopping too. I used to go to all the semi-local stationery stores.

I mostly get the same things. I'm a pretty picky eater so I don't really branch out that much haha.

Yea I don't live close enough to a city to be able to walk everywhere.
But with the pandemic I've actually been getting my groceries delivered - another reason it stays pretty on schedule is because I put the order in earlier in the week to reserve my time slot for it.

Posted in honeyglazed ★ Posted 4 years ago

Yea that's true.

I always get groceries on sunday.
I'm a very 'on a schedule' kind of person lol.

Yea I'm okay with switching the topic too. Only so much time I should probably spend complaining. :P

Posted in honeyglazed ★ Posted 4 years ago

Me too!

Yea... that's what I've heard but I honestly don't know for sure how true or not that is for me. I've talked to very few people about exactly how much I'm making and of those that I have if they were making more it's because they had a higher-level title than I did at the time so it made sense that they made more.

I usually prioritize culture too - and I will interview with startups. But I find they usually turn me down because of a 'culture mismatch' which is pretty much always because I want to work set hours loool. It could be the area I'm in has a different startup culture than other places. And with my current job search I'm really only looking at 'Design System Teams' because I got to work on one a few months ago and loved it and ended up not being able to stay. But they tend to exist more at bigger companies than smaller ones so I haven't been talking with startups as much this time around because of that.

Thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind. ^-^

I've thought about it but the problem with most startups is that they usually have a culture of expecting you to work more than 40 hours a week and whenever they need you and that's super not for me. I need to be able to say that I'm done with work past a certain point in the evening and on weekends. I'd go insane if I was 'always on'.

I'm also still pretty low in years of experience. I think that has a lot to do with how I've been compensated so far.

@xvz:
I guuuuesss soooo. Theoretically I should be being paid more for my speed. I guess if I worked at a job where I actually was paid more than the people moving slower than me I might actually give them closer to my full speed.

@kay:
I'm really loving your avatar!
And maaaan I want a second bookshelf but after my boyfriend moved in there's not really enough space currently loool.

@pachi:
Yeaaaa I love my loft space. It's got a cute little window out into the rest of the apartment too rather than the usual railing setup I've seen before.

That's kind of neat that yours has your kitchen!

Posted in honeyglazed ★ Posted 4 years ago

I probably wouldn't have moved at the time except I was able to find a place that came with a loft space while still being really affordable and so the loft space is my craft room now.

(and my office now that I'm wfh looool)

tbf I moved into my current apartment after I had my current job so I picked it in part for the closeness to work.
