I'm sorry that sucks guys. D:

Near impossible might be a stretch. Heavily discouraged might be more accurate. But my boyfriend with zero previous experience working on iPhones or iPads specifically (some previous experience with computers) managed to remove the camera from his devices without damaging the devices ability to function.

But pretty much all of the tech companies out there are not great for one reason or another. Just gotta figure out what bugs you the least.

Yea. It usually says a lot about how much they care about their UI and by extension their usability.

I usually go by aesthetics too. Or at least how much I like the UI anyway.

I only just moved over from a windows computer. I used to like the customization of windows. But these days I don't want to put the time in and after my work computers all being macs I'm more used to it at this point.

Also I just realized that when the avatar flips the "oh honey" goes backwards that's lame.

Yup it's just called "Bear" it's on the mac ecosystem I don't know if it exists for windows. I also like that it syncs across my devices.

I use bear for note taking. It's markdown based which I know from work so it works well for me that way.

@lina:
Having the good ideas here with the monetization aspect. Ads on people not logged in is a great idea.

I'd want the front page halved into two rows. Top one is a 'community picks' not something actually hand-picked out but like the pieces that have gotten the most attention in the last 24 hours. Bottom row could be "Featured Artists" and be a paid for section. Maybe pay to reserve it for 24hrs at given time with a schedule... I'd want to make sure lots of people could take advantage of that if they wanted to.

ffffff- I think I need to go type this stuff up in a document.

Now... how do you make money off of it?
You could do ads.
You could also do a set fee to get access to certain features.

But artists are... well poor. I feel like they might be more open to the site taking a small percentage of each commission. Because then they're still able to be on the site and displaying and don't have to worry about if they have large gaps between commission waves sometimes.

asdhgle I'm sorry about rambling a bit about this, the id has made my brain happy lol.

In my head I was thinking the actual commissioning payment would still go through an outside vendor but having it be integrated into the site would actually be pretty awesome. Especially if it was the kind of thing where the commissioner basically pays the website, the website holds onto that payment while the art is being done, and then the artist gets the payment once they've completed the commission and the commisioner okays it.

Then the only iffy situation I could see is if the commissioner bugs out and never hits the "accepted" button or the artist bugs out and never submits the art but you could either make that a ticket system that's dealt with on a case by case basis or have it automated that after a certain amount of time (past what the artist lists as their art-completion time frame) the system will release the money back to the commissioner or to the artist depending on what part of the process it's on.

Yes that's true! And that's why it's still on my list cause I want to do some research on it to make sure. My understanding is the other one is aimed more at businesses and I wanted to aim mine at general consumers.
