@onsenmark: I take care of a disabled vietnam vet (my father) at home, so holidays are both a blessing and a curse. Yes, I'm working, but I also get to be with my father as he gets older.

Stil, the working part - taking care of his meds, his random outbursts, helping him in and out of the tub, etc. - is definitely not fun!

Case in point, today I am actually sick. I asked if he would go and get me some juice. He is stillv ery mobile and able to drive, etc. His response was an outburst - screaming, dropping F-bombs, etc. because I didn't respond to him right away about which kind of juice I wanted. I was curled up on the couch playing a video game at the time, and needed to pause the game to hear him properly.

Of course, five minutes later, he doesn't remember this at all, and is now upset that I said don't worry about the juice, because I was too sick to handle him screaming at me, and is now arguing that he didn't scream at me, and that I always claim he doesn't do anything for me. Quite the opposite, in fact. I know he does quite a bit for me in terms of money and paying for transportation when I wantt to go somewhere. Just ... ugh!

. . . Sorry for the rant, lol. Once I started typing, I couldn't seem to stop!

Unfortunately ... 0. But I'm just getting started with this event :)

So, I'm super excited but don't have many people IRL that I can share this with.

I GOT THE JOB!

I just came back from my interview and few minutes ago, and I was offered the job on the spot. I should start by the end of the week.

It's just Subway, so nothing super special or amazing, but still ... money! Huzzah!

I've never understood the draw of streaming.

I just .. would rather play the game than watch somebody else play it, I guess?

Now, if you were to make short videos showing how you got past a difficult area, of solved a puzzle in the game, etc . . . that I woud be interested in watching! Even with added commentary or visuals thrown in to make your videos unique.

@Jolly: Oh, is it super sugary? I'm diabetic, so probably not the best idea for me to even try it, haha

I'm not gonna lie, Banana Milk sounds kind of terrible, haha. I mean, I've heard of Banana Butter, which I like if used in things like pancakes, but ... drinking it? It is any good? Does it just taste like liquified bananas? I'm super curious!

So! New rule!

I am no longer allowed to go out drinking alone. I have to be with somebody who can take me home, control me, tell me when to stop.

I made it to day 4 without alcohol this time, I am now enjoying a beer in my house while I play video games. Safe, nice, enjoyable.

I hope this works. Because going cold turkey IS NOT WORKING.

@Justice: Safe from that particular situation, perhaps. Not exactly safe from myself, though. At least, not yet.

@Justice: Not really. The best I've made it is 3 days recently, and last night I REALLY messed up. Like, drunk on the side of the road with at least one cop hanging around, keeping an eye on me kind of messed up.
