Hazel as silent as he made his inquiries.

"Lindsay is... well, last I heard Mistress has taken to calling him 'Birdbrain', even though phoenixes are rather intelligent." She told him honestly.

"What's a phoenix got to do with it?" Rowena asked.

"Hm? Oh, Mistress combined him with a phoenix. Caused plenty of pain, but now he is basically just like those birds, but as far as I am aware, without the ability to shift to a bird form." Hazel answered.

"....... I need to talk to the council then." Rowena said with a heavy sigh.

"Fyrane's are not legally allowed to be within 100 square kilometers of a phoenix." She added.

Hazel nodded.

"Of course." She said simply.

"I can give you a lot of information about plenty of people there." She told him honestly.

"What would you like to know?" She then asked

"Good luck." was all Hazel said.

"He's pretty devoted to Mistress, and it has given him impressive resilience to someone trying to extract information." She added.

"Fyrane's have their ways." was all Rowena said, with a light smirk to her voice.

"AJ, if you would like some information pertaining to him, that is something I can grant. I may not know everything, but I am aware of a lot, due to how he was often tasked with 'taking care of' me."

"He never cared." Hazel commented with a shrug.

"Ever since he first arrived with Mistress, he has been obsessed with her. Doing anything and everything for her without her mana." She continued

"That's... no way to live..." Rowena commented quietly.

"He is happy with it, or at least he was. I don't think he is so much any longer." Hazel countered with a shrug.

"He can." Hazel commented.

"However, he has severe limitations." She continued.

"Jenkins was naturally a necromancer, and has some time manipulation abilities too."

"I... certainly have no idea. " Rowena commented with a light sigh.

"I just... wish I had any sort of idea." She added. It was about then that they heard footsteps entering the room.

"Jenkins?" Hazel asked, her voice curious.

"He was born human."

Rowena was silent for a moment before sighing, heavily.

"I'll help." She told him honestly.

"I've been trying to find that bitch myself, anyway. I'll put out more feelers, try harder to find her." She continued. "If only just to help you find your brother."

"I can't promise anything more than I will do all I can to help."

Rowena was silent as she gently took the crystal in hand.

".... My connection to souls is most certainly more... Well, stronger than I care to admit." she commented after a moment or two.

"this... Did you two work together to fragment his soul, and trap his intelligence in here?" she then asked, her voice a bit surprised.

"I didn't even know that could be done, if I'm being honest."

"Oh?" Rowena aske,d her voice curious as she leaned foward, her elbows on her knees.

"If I might be nosey... what's that?" She asked, her voice curious.

"I you don't want to, or can't, tell me, that's ok. I'm just curious."

While he was sitting there, Rowena stepped into the room, some coffee in her hands.

"Here." She said as she approached, taking a seat next to him.

"You ok?" She asked as he accepted the coffeee.

"You look like you've got a lot on your mind."

"For now, I do need to head upstairs and get back to work." She added.

"So I shall bid you two adieu for the moment."

Rowena just laughed.

"Good to know." She said with a smirk.

"as for meats, honestly, bring whatever back. I ... live very simply, and the most extravagant thing I own is this house, and that's mostly because I needed the space in the attic." She then said.

"I don't... if you take a look around, I really do live cheap." She added with a shrug. "So do what you will, with meat and such."

"I can cook almost anything." Hazel then commented.

"It... it is one of the only things I was able to actually derive pleasure of any sort from, while with Mistress." She added. "... Even if she used my enjoying cooking as a punishment often."

Rowena nodded.

"Have at it. If you're going to swim nude though, just make sure to turn the dial on the door. It's like a lock, but it's nothing more than an indication of 'hey you might see naughty bits!'." She told him.

"I do real well with making it seem like there's more than just me with it, too." She added with a laugh.

"I mean, I do get help from time to time for setting it all up, but it's just me."
