"Ashley..... it's ok." She assured him, her voice kind, calm.
"I'm not in trouble. That isn't always, or only, a punishment. Things that feel good shouldn't BE a punishment." She told him.
"For now... do you want to go back out to where your brother is?" Followed a second later.
"Just let me know what you want to do, ok?" This was, most certainly, a different side of Anya. Raph, despite having known her since before she fell, and having known her for so long before then, had never seen her have this much patience and kindness for a child. She almost seemed more like his sister, Sariel, than herself here.

"..... Was it a punishment?" She asked him.
"No... at least I did not view it as such." He answered honestly.
"I didn't either." Anya commented.
"So... why do you think it was a type of punishment?" She asked the child.

"Internal pocket of the packs." She told him.
"There's a roll of leather. Has everything for writing, and sharpening, within. Even some mana charged ink sticks." She added.
"Did you not find it?" She asked, her voice curious before looking to Raph.
"You, zip it."

"What?" She asked before it clicked.
"Shit! Ashley!" She exclaimed, scurrying out from under her companion, and behind him. She quickly wrapped her arms around Ashley, not caring about the skin that could be seen from the perceived abuse.
"Hey... hey calm down. I'm all right." She said as she was able to pull him off of Raph.
"I'm sorry Raph... I didn't expect him to return. Ashley, the hell are yoi doing back here? I thought you two would be gone for awhile..."

As Ash stepped inside, he heard... something. It sounded like something that easily raised alarm within his head.
A cry from Anya that could easily be taken as pain, along with an impact.
And then a voice he didn't recognise.

"Well hello there, gorgeous." She said after a moment or two.
"And sometimes, I'm not so sure you'd show. I do know that heaven has stepped in the way - whether intentionally or not - a few times in the past." She added before pausing.
"Or more specifically, Gabriel."

She had to get herself prepared. She had a date that night, after all.
---
Hours later, Anya was sitting on the couch, waiting her dates arrival. She didn't know how long he would take, but also knew that he would arrive once he had a chance.
This was a standing arrangement, and was as close to being a full on relationship as it could be. They'd been close before she fell, and just got closer after. For that matter, he was the reason why she fell, she'd argue.
"Wonder if you are going to show tonight." She muttered after a moment or two before chuckling. She wouldn't hold it against him if hec couldn't. For all she knew though, something came up.

"All right then." She said simply.
"Go. Have fun." She then said. "And make sure to test at least five new things! Bring the results back, I'd like to see what you did." She added after a moment, as they started to walk away.
"I will see you when you return."

"What can I say? It's surprisingly fulfilling to have you two here." She commented after a moment or two.
"How long do you think you'll be gone this time?" She asked, her voice curious.
"I know that the last few you've been gone for notably longer than usual." She added. "Which is fine, I'd just like to know."

Knowing she could do them some good was definitely a good thing in her books.
"Well now. Looks like I have time to myself." She muttered as she got to her feet.
"I suppose I should get ready." She added as she headed inside. She knew she had a date to get ready for, and also knew that the boys not being there would be beneficial for that. Especially considering the fact that she hadn't even mentioned to them that she had children there.
