"Back to Mama..." She said after a few seconds, fully aware of how it was likely that it wouldn't go well, but that WAS her end goal - for the moment at least. Until she couldn't go back, no matter what, that is.

"Why do you want to go back to Mama?" he asked her.

"I... I can help you get back to her, yes." he then said.

"But... why, dear? Why do you want to go back to her?" he asked again.

"Because it's where I'm supposed to be." was Lunet's answer. It was the same that she'd given anyone at any point in time.

She didn't quite seem to realise that where she had been before wasn't exactly good. She hadn't been able to mingle or whatever with other kids her age, and had no concept of what a healthy home was. Perhaps if she did, it would be better, and she'd have more of a desire to be free of that hell.

Even if they couldn't identify WHY it was so bad for her yet. At least not specifically.

"........." Zeke was silent as Lunet gave her answer.

"People are 'supposed to be' wherever they want to be, sweetie." he told her.

"People are allowed to make those decisions on their own." he said further.

"...hey." he then said.

"Are you hungry?" he asked, changing the subject.

"We have a place here where you can get food." he told her.

Lunet was silent for a moment before nodding.

"I... I am." She answered, her voice very hesitant. She seemed to recoil from him a bit as well, almost as if she feared punishment for admitting that she was hungry.

"But... but I'm ok." She added quietly, wanting to avoid whatever hell she thought was coming next.

"....no, sweetie." Zeke replied.

"If you're hungry, you should eat." he told her. "You deserve to eat if you're hungry." he said further.

"Come on. I'll take you someplace where you can get food." he offered, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. As he did so, Lunet felt a little surge of comfort and warmth from him.

It wasn't enough to get her to not want to go back to her mother. But it DID give her the impression that he just wanted to make sure she was fed. And he wouldn't punish her for being hungry.

Lunet was silent as she walked with Zeke to the cafeteria. She didn't really know what it was that she was supposed to say, and she certainly wasn't th emost enthused with this. She was still terrified that she'd be punished, but... she was hungry, and she knew noit to fight adults for something like this.

When they got there, Zeke got her seated before heading off to grab her some food for her. He did make sure to tell her to stay there, otherwise he'd risk her running off again, but she seemed a bit more complacent than one would expect for someone her age at the moment.

Which may have been alarming, may not have been. No way to easily identify for the moment.

Zeke just sighed quietly as he looked at Lunet, and how obedient she was being.

'....this is... concerning.' he thought.

He internalised it, though, and returned with food for her. He brought her a slice of pizza, a Ceasar salad, and a tall glass of chocolate milk. There was also a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert.

"Here you go." he told her.

"All for you." he said with a smile.

Lunet was silent before he said all he did.

". . . . Thank you." She said after a moment, still seeming like she was expecting punishment of some sort. She was certainly hesitant with taking her first bite.

As she ate it, slowly and warily, she made sure to not show anything. She'd learned the hard way that she couldn't, lest trouble befell her.

"You're welcome." Zeke replied.

He then brought out his phone, and sent a text.

It was a simple text. And it was sent to Angela.

Found her. Cafeteria. was all it read.

He then pocketed his phone once more, and watched her eat. She showed no joy or relief in doing so, which worried him immensely.

How the hell did you manage that? Angela replied via text about a minute later.

Keep her there if you can. Or let me know where you're going with her or whatever. I'm bringing Liv in, gonna see if talking to another child will help her at all. she sent as another text. He could almost hear the exasperation that Lunet was causing her through the words he read on the screen.

She's eating. he sent in response.

And I hope Liv can help. he then sent further.

With that, he pocketed his phone, sighed, and looked at Lunet again.

'You poor child...' was all he could think.

Ok. was all Angela sent in reply with a roll of ehr eyes. She didn't ask waht it was that Lunet was doing. She asked how Zeke had gotten her there.

It was about twenty minutes later before his cell chimed again.

Sending Liv in. was all it said. after he'd replied that they were still in the cafeteria, the doors opened and the child that Zeke knew, and knew well, made her way in and looked around, a little lost for the moment.

Zeke was silent for a moment, before waving at Liv. He waved until he got her attention, and when she started to make her way over, he smiled a little.

She's here. he sent to Angela.

Just in time, too. The girl's almost done eating. he sent further.

Oh, and to answer your original question, I just... found her wandering the halls. I asked if she was hungry, she said yes, so I brought her to the cafeteria. he then informed her.

Zeke didn't get a proper answer to his text, but he did know that Angela most likely read them and was leaving it all in his, and her daughters, hands.

Liv waved when she saw z/eke before starting in the direction of him and the little girl at the table.

As she approached, she just chuckled.

"Hey you two." She said with a smile. Lunet seemed to shrink back a bit, but it wasn't nearly as extreme as the previous people she'd met. Seemed Liv being in the same age group really was a good thing.

"Hey there." She said simply, kindly, and in a very friendly manner.

"Uh... hi..." Lunet responded. Liv just waited a tick before smiling softly, having though about what it was that she was about to say.

"Zeke, take off. I won't get lost in here with her, you know that." She then said.

"Leave us girls alone."

"Sure thing." he replied.

"Have fun, you two." he told them, before getting up and leaving them, heading out of the cafeteria.

"..." he was silent, before sending a text to Angela.

Liv and Lunet are talking now. Socialising. he sent to her.

Good. I'm really hoping that this does her some good. Angela replied with before sighing as she made her way to Hal's office. He deserved to know what was going on, as he owned the place. Although, she could admit that it was very possible he did already know.

Once she got to his office, she found he wasn't there. Nor was the woman that was usually manning the desk outside of his office. So she just sent him a text.

Yo, Hal. I'm at your office. Guess you weren't told, but Lunet's been found, and Liv is currently with her. It was simple, and sent as she was making her way out of the room.

There was then a pause. Obviously Hal was letting Angela respond to them, without it being a barrage of texts.
