Marc was silent for a moment.

".....Rocky knows where I live." he said.

"If you want to tell Desiree what happened... you are free to. And... and if she asks, then you can tell her where I'll be." he told the two of them, but Rocky more specifically.

"It'll be best if I leave, though." he then went on.

"Mostly because there are people that care about you and Desiree." he told Kalin. "They'll want to see you." he went on.

"It'll make things a lot less awkward if I'm not around for it." he reasoned.

"And that's not meant to be self-depreciation or whatever, it's just... well, more a statement on how I'm a hunter they won't know, and gut reactions will be predictable."

Marc thought for a moment, and nodded.

"Sure." he replied.

"That might be best." he told her.

"Odds are things are being wrapped up and such, and people will want to see them." he went on, gesturing to Kalin and Desiree.

"It was lovely to meet you, Ms. Kiczys." he told Kalin.

"Sad it had to be under such dire circumstances." he added.

Marcus looked at Rocky, and nodded.

He made his way towards her, and looked at Kalin.

"Farewell for now." he told her.

With that, he accepted the Fyrane's hand, and smiled.

"All right, I'm ready." he told her.

After some time, Marcus was in the place he had claimed as his home. Rocky had spent some time with him, but shortly left, as she had her own things to attend to.

"...heh." he chuckled, as he made himself some breakfast.

"I'm so lucky to have met Rocky." he told himself.

"One of the few rays of light in my life." he added, his cheeks turning slightly red.

"A shame nothing will come of it." he sighed, as he finished doing up his toast... just as he heard a knock on the door.

"Eh?" he muttered, making his way towards her, but freezing when he was a few steps away.

"...did she...?" he whispered, sensing who was there, before shaking his head, shakily grabbing the doorknob... and opening the door.

Marcus bit his lip slightly, but nodded.

"Sure." he replied, stepping out of the way so she could enter.

Once she did, he shut the door behind her, and sighed.

"Sorry the place isn't as luxurious as others." he apologised. "I live a rather simple lifestyle." he said.

"...anyway, I assume you got my address from Rocky?" he asked.

"Did anyone fill you in on what happened in the blank in your memory?" he asked further.

Again, Marcus was silent, before nodding slowly.

"Well... personal reasons... fears... semantics, I suppose." he muttered.

"And a request?" he asked.

"Of course." he told her.

"What is it?" he asked further, pausing and holding his breath for a moment.

He had no idea what to expect here, but he was preparing for the worst.

Marcus was stunned to the point of silence, before he shook his head slightly.

"Ah... a..." he stammered.

"A grandfather?" he asked.

He then looked at Desiree's stomach... and blinked a few times.

"A... grandfather." he confirmed.

"....Desiree, you..." he went on, his eyes starting to tear up slightly.

"You'd really want me in my grandchild's life?" he asked her.

Marcus shook his head vigourously.

"No, no, no, it's not that." he said.

"Not that at all." he told her.

"I... I would be greatly honoured if you allowed me to be a part of the child's life." he said.

"...and yours as well, I assume?" he then asked.

"That is... well... are you saying that you want me in your life?"
