The man took his hat off, revealing his eyes... one of them being identical to Desiree's.

"I need a special mixture." he told her.

"Specifically, one that has Clarity Carnations in it." he added.

Clarity Carnations were an ingredient that was... weird. They were sometimes used in generic detox-like mixtures, but they never really added much for overall help.

However, they were known for one specific use-case.

They counteracted Doll Daisies.

"Something drinkable." Marcus replied.

"The victim in question ingested it." he told her.

"So the most efficient way of neutralising it is the same way. But a liquid will start working a lot faster than a solid." he reasoned.

"And the sooner the better." he added, before pausing.

"...that being said, I have SOME time." he went on.

"Within the next 8 hours, at the latest." he specified.

"Is that doable?"

Marcus accepted the mug, and sighed.

"It is, and I am." he replied.

"I've been tracking some people for a while, and they have hostages." he told her.

"One of them has Doll Daisies in her." he lamented.

"I need to rescue them before it's too late."

Marcus thought for a moment, and sighed.

"Yes." he replied.

"However, she's not the one under the Doll Daisy control." he told her.

"...she IS, however, why time is precious." he then admitted.

"But this needs to be done with precision and finesse. Otherwise, it could be disastrous for both of them." he lamented, shaking his head a little.

"But you know I know what I'm doing." he added.

Marcus just shook his head.

"I know." he replied.

"I came to you the INSTANT I found out I had an opening." he told her.

"It'll be brief, but... I know I can do it." he then assured her.

"I can save them both." he went on.

"...I owe it to her..." he then mumbled, guilt in his tone.

"..." the man was silent, and then sighed.

"....my daughter." he told her.

"They have my daughter." he said.

"I failed her in the past, I won't do it here." he vowed.

"I refuse to sit back and let this happen." he went on.

"I will save her. She doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve any of the hardships she'd endured."

Marc was silent again, and sighed deeply.

He then scribbled an address down, and handed it to her.

"Find a motel or hotel in the general vicinity, and book a room with two beds." he told her.

"I'll take them there to rest off their weakness." he explained.

He then paused, and thought for another moment.

"And I would like Sydney Sherwood's phone number." he added.

Marc checked his phone, and nodded after a moment.

"Got it." he said.

"Rescuing the girls is the first step, and the biggest one." he told her.

"But it's not enough." he continued. "They need to be taken down. And I don't know if so many people knowing about this will do me any favours in getting this done." he reasoned.

"But I want her and whomever she gets to help to essentially get the battling and cleanup done." he continued.

"Finish the job." he summarised.

Marcus nodded in response.

"....thank you, Rocky." he then said.

"For everything." he told her.

"You've made things a lot easier for me." he continued. "Perhaps easier than I deserve..." he mumbled further.

"After all, not many would help a rogue hunter like me."

Marcus just shrugged.

"Yeah." he said.

"Still got some scarring on my back from the encounter, too." he told her.

"Not like I didn't deserve it, though." he continued.

"I wouldn't have blamed you had you left me for dead back there." he then admitted.

"There are worse ways to go than at the hands of a woman like you." he added with a small smile.
