[ Running a convention is very expensive and unless they're one of the super big ones, rarely makes a profit. Just barely break even. ]

Most of the people running the con didnt get much more than a free entry and a place to sleep, for helping at the con as volunteers.
Its nott oo big a con, Like othr countries where they usually have more but for Denmark 3-4000 visitors at the con is = a big convention. J-popcon is the oldest and largest convention, which also makes it a very stressfull and more business oriented convention than Genki was. Genki was/is known for its open friendliness, whereoff J-popcon is, thats my experience, the type of con where you more or less have to known some people in the community before you can get to meet other cosplayers.. And I can barely hang out with my friends there because there is so much focus on the cosplay-show on the saturday that they are just taken to be busy the entire friday and saturday. :/
I gonna go buy groceries with my dad, before the thunderclud comes over town which it should within the next hour. have been hearing it rumble in the distance the past hour.

I remember I volunteered at genki once and then they had a room at the convention where staffers could sleep.. there were also breakfast if I remember corectly.. it was at their 3rd con
Here, if you volunteer and live to far to drive back, you still need to pay for your own hotel room. Travelling costs are also on you.

@tuijp: Ahh. Well to be fair, I've never played any of the previous versions (unless you count the free versions you can download on your phone or tablet) so I'm like really blown away by everything on here.
