summer is too hot and intense

Growing up I always loved summer time. Out of school, good in season fruit/food in general, my birthday, traveling, etc. I love the long days as well. I’m very solar powered.

But now? It’s too hot. I feel almost as cooped up as I do in like late fall or early spring I can still go out for a little while with the right clothes but it’s not very comfortable or fun.
I hate the wildfires, I hate heatwaves where you and everyone else suffers, I hate hurricanes and flooding. Summer is just relentless now and sometimes it makes me feel guilty for ever liking summer the best.

That being said I don’t know if mentally I’m ready for fall. Some seasonal trauma + it means winter’s around the corner and I get SAD bad (and easily)

I'm so ready! It's my favorite season, but maybe I'm biased because I was born in the fall (October).
It just looks so pretty and the fashion is everything to me. When its cold, you can bundle up..but when it's hot, you can't just peel your skin off LOL!

Yeah, unfortunately I think these crazy summers will be the new norm for a really long time.
I also find that I need to adapt in ways that I don't feel I had to in the past.
Look, I went to a park today to get some steps in, and didnt even THINK to check that uhhh its 103°F out there
NO WONDER we were the only people in the entire park, my husband and i LOL
30 min later we died!

aww my husband gets winter blues pretty badly too. I usually like winter more, but the icy weather causes trauma since I always am required to be in a car for the worst of it

The gift shop near my job already has their Halloween decorations out, so whenever I see them I think it's already fall, only to go outside and realize how wrong I am. >:|

@Jolly: I don’t know how humans are going to adapt to this. It’s just increasing so quickly. I wish summers were still warm but not like heat stroke hot. I grew up in Florida and I used to spend all summer outside and I was fine. Now it’s too hot for that. And same with you in TX.
It’s going to be more than 100F this weekend in DC (also Otakon weekend). Not good. I’m pretty far north for that but it’s the new normal.
