Milly sits at her desk, scrolling through the feed on her Vwitter. She hears the main doors open, alerting her that it is time to act professionally.
“Welcome to the Voltra Police Department, where we’re always ready and willing to serve and protect, yadda yadda yadda…” She trails off, her focus still entirely on her phone’s screen. The person who now stands at the counter clears their throat, getting Milly's attention with a slight scoff and roll of her eyes. She sighs, setting her phone down briefly. “Let me guess, you’re either one of our new “Monster Task Force” recruits, or you’re interested in becoming one, right? Well, I’ll explain how this works. This,” she gestures to a computer screen to her side. “Is our Update Log. This is what Monster Task Force members will want to pay close attention to. These are the developments happening in this case. It’ll help assist you with various information regarding the investigation. Give you some notes and insight, you know?” With her introduction duty complete, she returns to her leisurely scroll through the app, putting her feet up on the counter for additional comfort and asserting the fact that she really does not want to explain this further. “Anyway, welcome to the team…break room is around the corner and down the hall if you want to stick around and chat with other recruits. If you're looking for the complaint department, it's straight through those main doors and out of my sight.”

MONSTER TASK FORCE UPDATE LOGS
Developments in the current investigation will be logged under the Monster Task Force Updates post. These updates contain information relating to the ongoing creature investigation and will serve as both a notification to any active members chatting in the thread, as well as a synopsis of the event. (A spark notes version of the event for those who do not wish to read each thread in its entirety, but want the general idea of what is happening, story-wise).

LOG 3346 | MISSING PERSON ; SEARCH AND RESCUE
STATUS: ACTIVE
LOCATION: THE AMPERE RIVER
Officer Garry at location. Civilians accompanying. Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
Fears that civilian Vontell Cappala may be missing and in potential danger. Requesting assistance.

Vontell Cappala set off to investigate creatures on his own. Checking the riverbank of the Ampere River that runs along the city.
Vontell was to investigate the creature known as the Grindylok, thought to reside in the marshy waters of the river.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Vontell was researching the creature. Appears to have spotted it in the waters.

Lost sight of the creature, and found some local fauna around the scene.

A small rabbit made its way into the water - fearful of its safety, Vontell chased after it in hopes of saving it from its demise.

Something startled Vontell, chasing him from the water. He wrote something in his notebook in a panic. Something of importance?

Trying to flee the area, Vontell was attacked by something - dragged into the water.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
The Search and Rescue team arrives on scene. All efforts put forward to locating Vontell and bringing him to safety.
Unable to locate Vontell, however, evidence points to Vontell having potentially left the area, making his way back to the city. Search and Rescue team stay behind to continue to search the area, Officer Garry to investigate Vontell's home with JC and Milly.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Footprints found on the marshy banks, leading toward the city - Velvet confirms they are indeed Vontell's, judging from the imprints of the soles.

Vregory Eugene finds an object by the shore - Vontell's phone. It is cracked and damaged; Suspected reason for being unable to locate him prior.

As the team redirects their efforts to locate Vontell and ensure his safety, officer Garry locates several waterlogged papers written by Vontell.
There are messages on the papers. Garry takes them, but does not share the information with the others at this time. He regroups with the other two officers to locate Vontell.c
LOG 3341 | MYSTERIOUS FOG
STATUS: INACTIVE
LOCATION: VIBRANCE PARK[/b]
Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
Two civilians, Virgil Frost and Vyctor Bleu wandered into a park to investigate for creature activity. Came across a mysterious fog rolling in through the park. One civilian, Virgil Frost, entered the fog and began acting strangely. Reports seeing and hearing things that other civilian does not appear to be.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Only Virgil has entered the fog. Only Virgil is experiencing what appears to be hallucinations of sorts.

Vyctor cannot seem to see anything from outside of the fog and decides to locate the source in hopes of rescuing his friend.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Vyctor enters fog after taking some precautionary measures. Through his phone's camera, he spots what appears to be snails or mushrooms, or possibly both? He believes these may be the source of the fog.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Is able to navigate through the fog safely to rescue Virgil.

Virgil brought home to his sister, Violet, safely. Effects have yet to wear off from the fog.

Virgil alerted the VPD about the case - believes this is not the culprit, but has concerns for the safety of other citizens.

LOG 3342 | MISSING ANIMAL
STATUS: INACTIVE
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN
Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
Civilian Vivienne Harper looking for her lost pet, Timberland. Instead, appears to have located a mysterious creature - it is a cat, but nothing like she has seen before. It is unsettling and keeps appearing before her, no matter the direction she tries to go in an attempt to escape. Appears to be lost among the city streets.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

This creature does not appear to be attacking, but seems to be somewhat fixated on Vivienne.

Vivienne appears to continue to become lost or blocked in by this creature.

She is unable to find her way out of the situation and is becoming increasingly alarmed

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Vivienne finds her way out of the situation. No harm has appeared to come to her, outside of experiencing some bad luck.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

This cat creature does not seem to be violent or dangerous to her.

Perhaps it is just looking for something itself - Vivienne attempts to befriend the creature.

Officer Garry arrives at scene with Timberland, the missing cat. The strange cat seems to have disappeared.

Vivienne tells Garry about the creature she saw, noting that it does not appear to be a threat and tells him it is not one the VPD should worry about in their investigation.

LOG 3343 | CREATURE ENCOUNTER
STATUS: INACTIVE
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN
Officers JC, Garry, and Milly at scene. Civilian Valentina Tinker at scene. Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
Receiving results that the victim's body sustained bite wounds from what appears to be two creatures, civilian Valentina Tinker believes she might have a lead on who the culprit is. VPD officers on standby as Valentina attempts to summon this creature - she is successful in doing so, and as legends regarding this creature go, makes a wager with it in exchange for information vital to this case. Requesting assistance from available Monster Task Force personnel to aid Valentina.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Creature is called "The Khiebus" - a two-headed creature, capable of inflicting the potential bite wounds.

According to sources, it is a creature of great wisdom. Could provide insight into the crime, i.e. a confession.

The Khiebus agrees to Valentina's "summoning" - best it in its trial and it shall reveal a truth to a question she seeks. The Khiebus makes Valentina wager her life, should she fail. Stakes are high.

Trial has begun...VPD on standby, ready to assist.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Trial successful. No harm came to any personnel at scene. Assistance from Monster Task Force units greatly appreciated.
Creature has vanished after revealing information crucial to investigation. Unfortunately, not the culprit.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Not the creature to have attacked victim - Valentina is the first to have summoned it in a long while

Provided information before leaving: victim of creature attack appears to be missing something valuable; finding the item will lead us to the culprit.

LOG 3344 | CREATURE SIGHTING
STATUS: INACTIVE
LOCATION: CITY OUTSKIRTS
Officers JC, Garry, and Milly at scene. Civilian Vanora Aria at scene. Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
After hearing about the "missing object" report from previous creature encounter, Vanora offers insight on potential lead. VPD and Vanora off to investigate a potential location on where lead could reside. Creature located, but after being threatened, turned hostile. VPD members currently under attack. Vanora calling for assistance to rescue officers - ASAP.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Missing item report led Vanora to suggest the work of the creatures known as "Wrori"

Went to investigate potential location. Creature sighted.

Determined Wrori to be too small and fluffy to be of any harm. Update: very incorrect.

Currently under attack by a massive swarm of Wrori.

Vanora thinks there is a way to calm the swarm, needs assistance in gathering offerings.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Threat has been neutralized and attack has stopped. Offerings were a success; Wrori disbanded and fled.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Although injuries were sustained, none matched victim's injuries; determined to not be the culprit

Upon leaving scene, an item was presented to VPD from departing Wrori

Item is a water-logged wallet. Wallet does not belong to victim, but rather to Voltra's resident shopkeeper Vontell Cappala.

This comes as a shock to all at scene.

Officer JC believes he knows the next locations to search. Calls for the VPD to split into two groups and investigate the next locations.

LOG 3345 | MISSING PERSON ; SEARCH AND RESCUE
STATUS: INACTIVE
CAMP BREAKER
LATE EVENING
Officers JC, Garry, and Milly at scene. Civilians Vigo Aurora and Luka at scene. Calling for all available Monster Task Force Units.
COMMENTS
After suspecting that Vontell Cappala may be in danger, JC and Milly arrive at Camp Breaker. Milly requests assistance from Vigo, and an eager Luka who wishes to aid in the search.
INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

JC suspects Vontell could be somewhere along the waterfront - orders the group to split up and cover more ground.

Luka goes to investigate down by the docks. There he begins to hear a flute, playing a rather captivating song.

Being drawn in by the melody, Luka finds himself wandering into the water and unfortunately - into danger.

Creature known in folklore as Nix grabs Luka, pulling him under the surface. In his struggle, Luka becomes caught in the water's dense weeds.

Officer JC acts quickly, jumping in to assist the child and free him from the tangled mass.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Luka successfully rescued and both make it back to shore. Limited injuries. Vigo is very upset about Luka's involvement and endangerment, leaving JC feeling equally upset for putting him at risk.

INVESTIGATIVE POINTS

Found no signs of Vontell at the lake.

Voicemail recieved from Officer Garry - a lead on Vontell's whereabouts.

Officers JC and Milly to meet up with Garry.
