Longer story about moving.
I'm so glad that I'm moving out of here. I'm not a fan of wildfire season which is coming soon. CA is just too expensive and my family on the east coast in FL and PA is not doing well health wise.
My husband and I both really like the DC area too. I hope that we will be able to find happiness there.

@Totalanimefan: It's so true that we need special events to help mark time. This weekend there's an online doll event I've been looking forward to, and there are a couple more in August, too. I'm just glad since everything else was cancelled and I've really been missing getting together and hanging out over hobbies

@athabm: I totally agree. Everything is happening still, but also nothing is happening anymore.
Tomorrow I was supposed to be in DC for Otakon 2020. That seems so unreal. I wasn't planning the trip this year (except for the ticket I had already bought before the pandemic)
It's the trip I think about all year long and plan all year long and get excited about all year long. Now I haven't thought about it since it was cancelled months ago. Time isn't real anymore.

@Totalanimefan: it does feel a bit like time isn't real, kind of like an exaggerated version of how I felt when I graduated high school years ago and realized I no longer had the school year to organize my life around
