To your suggestion to try a different media, I chose Watercolor. I messed around getting used to the paints and came up with this.

I was just messing around with blending mostly, and the shape turned fish-like so I figured I'd make it a fish.

Ah that sounds perfect. I've seen challenge things like that 'turn this blob into something by drawing on top'. I was never very good at them, haha.

It's a good way to start going about watercolor though!
