QUESTION: are you sure you didn't bring it back to your shop to throw in your hoard of broken hairdryers hM? did you actually leave the working hairdryer at the scene? (abridged)

@Hachi: Vivienne twirls her hair around her finger nervously, "Honestly I wanted to..." He laughs sheepishly, before sighing, "But in the heat of the moment I was kind of flustered and ended up abandoning it. Treat's a very important client and not one you want to keep waiting! I felt really foolish in front of her, that's why we hurried out of there..."

She blinks at the question, tilting her head, "Well, it'd blow some air but not consistently. It'd like... fluctuate? And sometimes it'd blow nice and hot, or suddenly become really cold, or blow really strong or really weak! I just gave up!"

QUESTION: this is a question for that little furball behind your legs, there. timberland was so quick to snatch that candy from vanora....is it possible timberland could have seen the statue and went full munchies mode and attacked it? maybe got caught up in your hairdryers in the process? [abridged]

@kiwi: Vivienne smiles weakly, laughing, "Well... If she was around it, she probably would... She really can't help herself around food. Luckily, we left her at home during the Ritual! There's no way she could have gotten to it."

Timberland stares blankly at you as she's addressed, "Meow."

QUESTION: Why do you have so many broken hairdryers? Maybe you burned them out trying to melt the statue... 👀

@tsundererra: Vivienne's eyes widen in shock from the accusation, "O-OH! No never! I would have nowhere to store that many or the time to pull that off, even if I wanted to! No, those were already at my shop I....."

Vivienne pauses, grinning as she seems nervous. Her eyes dart over to Vanora, who's frowning disapprovingly, as if she already knows where this is going. Composing herself, Vivienne sighs, "I may have a teensy weensy problem with holding onto things after they don't work... I've been stockpiling broken hairdryers over the years hoping you know, maybe some day I can get them fixed! But then uh... I just... get impatient and buy a new one..." She giggled slightly behind her hand, "Vanora keeps trying to throw them away on me so I need to hide them! It's not hoarding!"

CLUES UNLOCKED...

Pulling a working hairdryer from the pile at last, after testing it by plugging it in, Vontell handed it over to Vivienne. "This one works."

Her eyes lighting up, tears dried up, she took it from him gently. "Thank you so much for helping me, Vontell!" she gave him a quick hug in gratitude. "I thought I'd have to close the store waiting for some more hairdryers to arrive, or risk whatever zany things Valentina might have added to any hairdryers she might have made. My best hairdryer actually get messed up on me just before the Ritual started... Treat requested I style her hair before the exchange, so she invited me backstage to get it looking just right! Unfortunately it died halfway through... It was really embarrassing..." She laughed softly, twisting her hair nervously, "I'm lucky she was patient, she let me go try to find a new one... Oh! Right! I totally spaced, but thank you for helping me! I'm sorry for the trouble..."

"It was no bother at all, it was my pleasure," he smiled slightly, the fake fangs of his costume indenting themselves into his lips. "What happened to the hairdryer, was there a problem with the chord? Also, do you recall what you did with this hairdryer?"

"Ah yeah, I was really upset when it gave up on me. But no, the chord was perfectly fine, it just would not blow air right... And oh, I think I might've left it behind because since didn't work," she pouted slightly, then waved the new working hairdryer in her hand. "But now this is my new best friend! The old hairdryer can go in the bin or something. Maybe Valentina can use it for spare parts, if she can find it!"

Tilting his head a little, he inquired, "During your time backstage, did you happen to see anyone else?"

Blinking, Vivienne nodded. "Hmm... Well like I said, there was Treat, but she entered and left the backstage with me, so we were together the whole time. It was just us for a while... Oh! But I know Vanora was back there, she was there before me helping out with the set up. She was doing a lot of running around though... And then when I was leaving, I passed Vyctor. He was wheeling in something heavy with a tarp... I think it was the statue! But I never really had the chance to ask..."

Thanking Vivienne for the information, and wishing her luck with her hairdryers, Vontell departed the store, not wishing to intrude upon her any longer.
