@icedchai: haha, I usually enjoy it when random people comment on things in a positive way or just to strike up conversation, but if they're making complaints or worse yet, those veiled insults like "interesting"... then it's like, who asked you? Once when I was in my teens, I had on a pair of black and white striped socks while I was at the grocery store and some rando felt the need to let me know it wasn't Halloween. People like that make me not wanna wear anything interesting, ever. Especially now that I'm in my 30s, but feeling too old to dress alternatively is another issue entirely, I guess.

@Juliette: If it's really severe, my best suggestion would be to contact a therapist or counselor if possible. Aside from that, there are things you can try during stressful moments, like mindfulness exercises, taking a walk, cold water, deep breaths, etc that might help. If you can have headphones on, playing something soothing like music you enjoy or nature sounds or white noise could be useful. Just in general, remembering to take time to yourself to do something relaxing and practice your mindfulness can be good for stress prevention, as can healthy habits like getting enough water/sleep/exercise... It really depends on your situation and preference, though.
