@Wildfire: Same! Like just watching the transformation of the way I put together avis is always fun to look at lol. Sometimes I look back at avis and wonder what the heck I was thinking, but it's all good. xD

I worry about the workload associated with integrating a customization colour system, for THAT reason. Ernya took on an enormous workload with theirs, and I think it was part of their downfall.
But that's the only site I've been a part of with a customization feature like that.
@Wildfire: I getcha--sometimes drama has me like -big side eye emoji- lol. I will say that some of the sites that come to mind start with S and M lol. That's all I'll say though.

The spell system on Ernya was fantastic for customization. The problem was, they needed to have the spells available at all times, not just be at the mercy of those who had extras to sell.
And I'm not comfortable disclosing the names of sites whose owners/staff were terrible.

I've gotta do some art for Seb, both because he was kind enough to do some for me as a page prize, and because I really want the practice lol.

See, moderators and even some admin were notorious for doing terrible things to their userbase (on some sites) so I avoided those like the plague.
I also feel like cliques are just a commonality among all avi sites. I'll admit I talk to the same people in different threads, but that doesn't mean I talk to them exclusively. I always welcome new faces! <3

@Wildfire: Same. It's rare that I re-equip an avi when I do change it. But it's nice to look back on past avis, even if you weren't quite happy with them at the time.

Favorite thing about avatar sites is the quality of the avatars (variety of items, layering, etc.) and the people I get to meet on them.
Least favorite things are monotony (i.e., same schematics for events, lack of release of features/items) and lack of discipline on userbase, regardless of title. I've heard horror stories of some people getting away with things that shouldn't be, and I steered clear away from those environments.

Long story short, the owners were losing money and finally decided to call it quits, but the way they handled it was very poor, imo.

And true, although I do enjoy looking at entries regardless of the prompt. I was going to attempt the flower one just for funsies, but now idk if I'll have time since I have other art to finish before I even get to that (again, if there's time).
Maybe next event I'll be better about art stuff lol.

Honestly though, this is the first site I've found that even compares to it, both in atmosphere and avatar quality. It's so refreshing.

Ernya is the site that comes to mind with that feature, and it was hella handy. Of course I consider myself spoiled by that site. ^^;

I get notifications for when the few friends I do have make topics lol. I don't mind though--it's nice to see new threads and if I can respond to them!
