public health is my stepmom's field and i actually just talked to her 2 days ago about the spread of this virus. she's very concerned, not for her household or mine but in general people aren't taking it seriously enough in the US. we still don't have any confirmed cases in my city but there are a ton on the other side of the state (New York City) so it's only a matter of time.
i was sick with what i think was a cold last weekend but got over it faster than any cold i've ever had before. only took about 36 hours to be symptom free. i got it from my office, where currently 5 other people are sick. most people have missed multiple days of work because they felt like crap. my tenant is sick now too, i can hear him coughing his brains out upstairs. not sure why or how i got over it so fast but part of me wonders if it was actually covid-19 and my immune system just kicked it to the curb or something. the past few months we've had employees back and forth from China and one of them had "the flu" after coming back and then the rest of the office got sick lol but that was right when the media started blowing up at it.

hello again
@Totalanimefan: We are still going. We shouldn't because my dad is a high risk patient but we still are. There is no travel ban for regulair people. They just said that old people and people with a weaker immume system should avoid crowded places.
All events with more then 100 people are canceled however.
Oop a Brazilian Secretary of State who met Trump last weekend also has the virus. Trump of course says he's not worried.
@sunny: Never going to happen. There is to much at stake. The only time the Olympics where canceled was during the war.
My dad actually cancelled his trip to Spain that was set for next week. They suggested he postpone it for the time being.
Lucifer's Pet
@vengeance: yeah it would have to be bad for them to do that...
My mum is considering cancelling our holiday in June to the east coast.
I know but today the government has said it will get worse in the coming months :/
@vengeance:
@vengeance: I wish we knew who we could trust :/ there is so much conflicting information.
Yeah for sure. Don’t trust trump
Sneezing isn't common for the flu? I admittedly don't know much about the flu...

@koneko: yeah it's a great guide.
I bought a family pack of cough drops and I have some NyQuil. I don't know if I have enough NyQuil but it's what I have on hand from my sickness in Jan. If you can, I recommend doing a service like instacart or Prime now instead of going to the store. Just ask them to leave it by the front door. That way a bunch of people aren't going to the store.
