Once Callie noticed what she did, she reacted fast. She got between herself and Adym, acting as a bit of ap ortection for him, knowing that there was a decent chance that the spider coming for them wouldn't be nice - but also that it was posisbly fair and not going to hurt them.

"No idea if that spider is friendly." She then said before Adym could say anythin, before he could inquire as to what it was that she was doing. She almost didn't care, the way she saw it she was in rough enough shape that it'd be better to add to it, instead of having someone else take a potential hit.

Adym looked over at the approaching silhouette... and was immediately apprehensive.

However, it quickly abated when the spider came into view.

It looked fluffier than the others, and it was white and blonde... with deep blue multiple eyes.

"...Callie, I think it's all right." he told her.

"I think we're looking at the newest guardian." he continued.

"With the death of the previous one, and the corruption now starting to subside, it looks like it's ready to take up the mantle."

Callie was silent for a moment before smiling softly.

"Good to know." She said, relaxing a bit.

"Definitely good to know." She added with a light chuckle before pausing.

"Well, since we have the proof of things returning to normal here, I suppose s hould take off?" She asked."Because I am really starting to feel ... a bit rough." She added. As he took a look to see, he was able to see how she was getting to be pretty seriously pale.

"......" Adym was silent as he looked at Callie, before nodding with a sigh.

"Right." he said.

"Let's go." he told her, as they started to walk off, with the new guardian watching them.

As they walked, the other spiders seemed to be getting out of their way, allowing them passage.

"....we'll see if someone can help you when we get to my home." he told her.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"...I know you said 'a bit rough' earlier, but... any specifics?"

Callie just sighed.

"I just... I feel rough." She said. "I'm not sure how else to explain it.."

"Starting to feel a bit tired, feeling a touch on the weaker side due to the damage, and the like."

"Hm." Adym mumbled.

"All right, as I said, we'll get you help." he told her.

"It should be much easier to find my home now." he then said. "With the source of the corruption gone, and its influence now weakening, the forest should be a little kinder to us." he explained.

"Or someone may be there to meet us and take us there." he added.

"Regardless, it won't be long." he assured her.

"Let me know if you start to feel worse, okay?" he then asked.

Callie nodded.

"For now, let's just get a move on and get our butts outta here." She commented before sighing lightly.

As they walked, she was keeping up rather well overall, but he could tell that she was starting to falter. It wasn't too bad, not yet, but it would be easy to believe that it would be bad with time.

"....." Adym remained silent as he saw her faltering more and more, little by little.

He wasn't going to say anything just yet, but he would if things jumped in severity.

They left the shrine, she could immediately sense that the woods were more welcoming. She didn't feel the constant sense of dread or unease now.

But that was... little comfort.

"This way." Adym told her.

"We're not far from home." he said.

"We'll see a medic when we get there."

"That'd be grand." She commented

"Because ugh. Iam starting to feel notably worse. But we're not too far, so I'm not really that worried about it."

After a little more walking, the trees started to thin a little, and they saw a city sprawled out before them.

"And we're here." he said.

"Home." he said further.

"...or what's left of it, anyway..." he mumbled.

"You feeling any worse?" he then asked her.

"It has a chance to rebuild now, though." She commented.

"And yes. I really am." She added as an answer to his question.

"I'm really starting to feel.... fuck, almost diconnected?" She asked, not entirely sure if that was the right way to say it.

"I dunno why, either."

He then looked around, and sighed.

"Suppose we should see if the medicine woman is still here." he went on.

"..." he was then silent for a moment, before it connected.

".....disconnected?" he asked.

"Ohhhh, that's REALLY not good..."

"But... yeah... that's a thing." She then said with another sight as she attempted to keep pace with him as best as she could.

"Wanna give me a heads up for why it's so 'not good', though?" She asked.

"I... in general, that's not good." he said.

"I wonder if it's because of loss of blood?" he suggested.

"Regardless, feeling disconnected means something serious is happening." he continued.

He then turned, and looked around.

"HEY!" he called out.

"ALOSHA-DAL-KYNDRA!" he shouted further.

Callie just chuckled lightly as he called out what he did.

"... really is..." She said before pausing. She wanted to say more, but it didn't seem that she was able to do so for the moment.

'. . . damn..." She muttered.

"I think... now that I don't have the drive to get back... I'm... I'm really starting to feel horrible." She then commented, not seeming to realise that she'd either outright understood, or gotten the gist, of what he'd said.

Adym didn't have time to process how Callie had seemed to understand what he'd said, before it hit him.

"....shit!" he cursed.

"The venom!" he exclaimed.

"Callie, the guardian's venom! Its teeth cut you!" he realised.

"HEY!" he yelled out again.

"SHE'S DYING! HELP!" he shouted out.

"SYN'THROVA!" he then yelled once more, the Elven word for 'mayday', effectively. It denoted a serious problem, and time was a factor.

". . . ohhhhh shit." Callie said after a moment or two.

"... yeahhhh... right. Let's... let's get somewhere I can either get an antivenom, or die in peace with some dignity." She added, her voice starting to sound a bit worse. Then again, she was looking like hell, all ready.

Shortly after she said that, someone came out of one of the nearby buildings, looking a bit rough themselves, but it wasn't hard to tell that it was due to how the city wasn't doing the best after the corruption.

"What's going on?" they asked as they approached.

"The Guardian." Adym responded.

"We... we stopped the Guardian, and ended the source of the corruption." he told them.

"But... but the Guardian's fangs... they cut her." he went on, gesturing to Callie.

"The venom is inside her." he continued.

"She needs help." he said.

"She needs the medicine woman."

"Get her to the medic." They then said.

"I'll make sure they get there too." That was the only thing that they really could do.

Adym then paused when he heard the word escape Callie's lips, but he shook his head, realising there was no time to get hung up on that.

"Right." he said.

He then nodded to the one that had approached, and they all made their way to where the medic was.

Once there, they entered the building, and both Adym and Callie were ready to drop... Callie more so.

"...here..." Adym said.

"....finally..."
