You can use clip studio, but you have to make sure your antialiasing is turned off. I personally use a mix of MS Paint and Aseprite.

@Tsundererra: I forgot to ping you before whoops. But yeah. Aseprite is worth buying imo since it's the most intuitive program I've used. It's not super expensive either. Totally not necessary if you're just getting started but if you want to get into doing animations or need multiple layers for effects, it's perfect.

@Tsundererra: You can, but I haven't figured it out yet. u_u I think you're limited to only a certain amount of frames or something unless you get their upgraded version. Which is probably fine for little pixel gifs.
