Lex froze when he heard that last part.

And every single synapse in his body started firing at full force. All sorts of signals were going here there and everywhere, and he had NO idea what to make of it all.

And that's when his mouth moved.

It moved and it said what was on his mind, with no filter at all.

"No!" he exclaimed.

"No, you can't disappear!" he said.

"I love you too much!" he then blurted out.

Lilim took a step back from him, shock in her face. It was an honest step back, and it could be taken in almost any way.

"I..." She started before shaking her head, and vanishing from where she was through a tear in space behind her. She couldn't handle that.

In essence, he'd scared her off.

The question, was whether or not she'd return, or was that the last that he'd seen of her?
And why did she leave?

Too many questions to ask, and certainly not enough answers.

Alex was stunned.

Frozen in place.

All he could do was stare at the place where Lilim had just been, in silence.

"......................" he caught his breath in his throat, before just slowly making his way to the room that she'd been using, making his way to the bed that she'd been using, and sitting down on it.

"...idiot." was all he could mumble to himself, before he just laid back and decided to... do nothing.

When he laid back and looked up at the ceiling, he saw that it was ... covered in more paint than the walls. It was largely black, but he could make out a surprising amount of detail up there. Even from where he was, he could tell there were details. They were faint, obviously not meant to be obvious, but there.

There was a LOT there when he looked closely. It varied from names, to thoughts, and more. It seemed like it was essentially her journal. He could tell Francis was up there a fair bit, and a lot of what he saw was easily identified as anger.

But his name was there a lot too.

And it seemed... to have been placed more delicately. It was also harder to see.

"....huh?" he muttered.

He looked through it all, and saw his name repeatedly.

And it seemed like it had been put there, each time, with great care and attention.

"What...?' he asked, sitting up a little and continuing to stare.

"What... what does that mean...?" he asked himself.

"....." he was then silent, before thinking about Lilim.

All he could hope... was that she was all right.

He was still in there the next day when his sister woke. He'd ended up falling asleep in the bed that Lilim had claimed while there, hoping that she'd returned.

When he woke later that day and made his way downstairs, he saw Aimee sitting at the desk she had, grading papers while she had something on the TV - news for the day - and she listened to it.

"Hey Lex." She said as she heard his footsteps in the room.

"You ok"?" She then asked, seeming to know something happened.

"......yeah." Lex replied.

"....no." he then corrected himself.

"I don't know." he mumbled.

"...Lilim's gone." he told her.

He then proceeded to inform his sister as to what had happened while she was out.

"...so yeah, she left." he said.

"And I don't know if what I said caused her to leave or not."

Aimee turned in her chair, facing her brother before sighing.

"I don't know either." She told him.

"It really bothers you, doesn't it?" She then asked after a moment or two.

"But, being a woman myself, I can talk from a bit of experience. My guess... is you scared her." She then said after a few seconds.

"I can't say for certain, but... that reaction sounds like you scared her. She's a demon... it's very believeable she doesn't know hwo to react or handle what you said."

Lex just looked away when she said that.

"....yeah..." he mumbled.

"But I panicked." he told her.

"I... well... I mean... she mentioned her disappearing, and I didn't know what to do." he went on.

"And the truth just... came out." he continued.

"......" he was then silent, before sighing deeply.

"I'm getting a drink." he told her.

"Want anything?" he asked.

"I'm all right." Aimee said.

"What I really want is to know exactly why she took off. That seems... out of character for her." She then said with a light sigh.

"Did she leave her phone?" She asked.

"You... could try calling her if she didn't."

"I don't know." Lex replied.

"I didn't look." he admitted.

"I just laid down in the guest bed she'd been using and stared at the ceiling until I passed out." he told her.

"....." he was then silent, before sighing.

"She did a lot of art on that ceiling." he then told her.

"Dunno if you wanna paint over it, but if you want to take a look, you might want to." he went on.

"Guess she'd been working on it for a long time. Probably ever since she was fascinated by the paintings in the museum when I took her the one time." he added with a shrug.

"....." he was then silent, and sighed again.

"I'll try calling her after I get my drink." he told her.

"That's the best you can do." Aimee said with a light sigh.

"And that's the best I can say for a suggestion, I'm sorry."

She made her way through the city, aiming for one location in specific. She wasn't sure where she was needing to go exactly to find what she wanted to find, but she was trying.

And eventually, she did manage to find the location in question. It looked like nothing more than an office building, but she knew it was more than that.

She stepped into the entryway before sighing.

"I'm just looking for Azazel Callimachi. Whether you let me in or send him here, I don't care." She then said

The man behind the desk was silent, before a 'sst' sound was heard.

"...ah, I remember you." he said.

"The one that said I was hell-bound." he continued, before grabbing his comm device that was connected to the P.A. system.

"Agent Az to the front security. You have a visitor." he said, before turning it off.

"Long time no see." he then commented at her.

"Been keeping well?" he asked.

"Good to see you haven't been added to the rest of your kind down below." She added after a second or two as she shoved her hands into her pockets.

"So I'm guessing we've both been keeping well enough."

"Haven't died yet, have no intention of doing so anytime soon." he told her.

"I am nothing if not stubborn to live." he went on.

"The world at large generally wants those like me dead, so I live on in defiance." he said further, before pausing.

"Well... that used to be true." he said.

"As of late, I live because there are those that make life worth it." he told her further.

It was at that point, Azazel stepped through the doors.

"...Lilim?" he asked upon seeing her.

"And trust me, I can tell you one thing. You've still got a loooong time before you die." Lilim said, a knowing smirk on her face, before she turned to Azazel and sighed, her smirk fading.

"Aza... can we talk?" She asked.

"Please?" There was something to her voice, something that Azazel couldn't identify despite having known her so well before.

'....please?' Azazel thought.

In the LONG time that he'd known her, he'd never heard her say that word, in quite that tone.

He then nodded slowly.

"Yeah, sure." he then said.

"Jake?" he addressed the security guard.

"Go on." Jake told Lilim.

"Come on, then." Azazel said to Lilim.

"There's a number of rooms we can talk in." he told her.

"Lead the way." Lilim said simply. It wasn't hard to tell that whatever it was, was more than she could eithe rhandle or understand.

After they'd made their way to one of the more private areas and locked anyone else from getting in, she just sighed.

"Lex outright told me he loved me." She then said bluntly and plainly.

"How the hell am I supposed to deal with THAT? Human emotions really are beyond me, still." She added.

"Yes, I know, being on the surface gives one some, I am fully aware of that, but still."

"...." Azazel was silent for a moment, before sighing.

"...so he finally admitted it." he said.

"His sister, myself, Uriel, we've all been seeing it form and come to light, but he finally went and said it." he muttered.

"Right..." he then said, trailing off a little and thinking about it.

"How are you supposed to deal with that?" he asked.

"Well... you first need to ask yourself how you feel about that." he told her.

"And yes, I know it's confusing and new and you're not entirely in control and all that." he then said. "Same as when I took up permanent residence on this plane." he confided in her.

"However, you need to stop thinking about it, and just stop, and FEEL how you feel." he advised her, before pausing.

"All right, that sounded weird." he admitted.

"But you get what I mean. What is the first thing that you felt when he admitted it? I know you clearly panicked, and you left, but think back on it. What sort of things were bubbling under that panic when you heard him?" he asked her further.
