@Amber Lynne: Yeah I've also never done it before.
So this is my first.
I made my own prompt though with some fun prompts though.

Yeah. I think i am just bad at breaking down anatomy into shapes first.
My shape structure probably needs some work. But i have a lot of references
so if one hand pose doesn't work I can always try another one.

@MoodyBats: hah. Smart way to go about it!
Another thing you can do, is if you're having a hard time with the positioning of something (hand, foot, whatever), if you can actually do it... Get a photo of yourself in that pose.
Can be better than searching online sometimes.
(tis what I do when hands trip me up)

Yeah that is true. I'll probably start doing that.
My sister usually offers to do that since she has a phone
and I do not lol.

Yeah. I've been hitting fundamentals HARD since late 2018-early 2019 until now.
If I don't I feel i wasted my day completely.
and even now i feel i am not improving at times. :vanora_sweat:

But i guess I am if people notice it even if i can't lol.

It's very. very.very normal to stagnate for awhile with your art, even if you're attempting to improve.

I find that when that happens, trying something new tends to help.

@Amber Lynne: yeah, trying new things always helps.
I think the newest thing I did was cloud paintings which i found fun until I realized
the two paintings I did almost looked the same lol.

But might try some new landscape techniques as i have such an itching for painting.
Though i also need to follow some hair painting tutorials.

Both landscapes and hair have SO many different methods to do them well.
Those are gonna literally be a case of 'try 'em and find a method you like'.

@Amber Lynne: Yup. Feel like my experimenting with painting lips
has helped a lot. So trying to think of it like I did the lip studies
so I don't get anxiety over it lol

Especially coloring. As usually it's complete and flat colored.

Haha yeah. But it'll get better I am sure the more I practice.

@MoodyBats: Oh without a doubt! Pracitce is wonderful~

As is drawing hands in positions you wouldn't normally. As a result, you'll get more used to the joints and how they move.

I still end up with fingers too long or too fat. so that isn't a catch all win. lol

@Amber Lynne: Yup. Though i am debating to add some more things
to one piece because I am making her into an official character.
And she's kinda sassy. I use to hate the changes I did to her but now i love them and think she looks
much better.

Very true. I am bad with proportions so sometimes my hands are much bigger.
Though shrinking them doesn't do any better since proportions everywhere are off.
But i am slowly getting better at the proportions.

@Priestess of Pie: most of my wips don't get done on account
of the hands. But they'll get done eventually.
