"Indeed." Azazel responded.

"We try to have at least a modicum of civility and humanity towards those that enter these walls." he told her.

"With some it's harder than others." he then muttered, as they entered the room in question.

"All right." Nate said.

"So you say you will heal from your physical injuries." he commented.

"And what was that about mana drain?" he asked.

Nate was silent for a moment, taking notes.

"I see." he said.

He then paused for another moment, and looked more closely at her. Specifically, her eye.

"....hm." he muttered.

"What is it?" Azazel asked.

"Oh, there's more to this than there seems." Nate responded.

"But I'm sure she knows." he added.

"Ahhh-ha, that explains a bit." Nate said.

"Huh?" Azazel muttered.

"I've gained a degree of fine control over my ability." Nate told him. "I can see that something is... well, it's not exactly 'right' with her. And her eye is the centre of it." he went on.

"Worst case scenario, her life is in danger." he said further.

"However, it does not seems to be an immediate concern." he added at the end.

"What can you tell us about the person that wrested control from you?" he asked Vanessa.

Azazel froze when he heard that.

"...that's frightening." he said.

"Seems it." Nate agreed.

"We need to do something, and fast." he went on.

"If this Vyran manages to collect all the power he can, it would mean sapping this world of its mana." he continued.

"Leaving it to wither and rot." Azazel concluded.

"Hmph." Azazel mumbled.

"Never thought I'd see the day." he said.

"Where we'd be working with her?" Nate asked.

"Pretty much." Azazel responded.

"They say the enemy of your enemy is your friend. Well, Vanessa's been that enemy for the longest time, causing others to form alliances until she's taken down." he explained.

"Never thought I'd see the day where a greater evil was seen."

Both Nate and Azazel were shocked to hear such venom from her, not directed at any of them, and to hear such sincerity from her in regards to getting rid of Vyran. They could definitely agree with her, though... he had to go.

"Well... I can agree to that, at least." Azazel said.

"I'd rather not see this world come crumbling down." he reasoned.

"Same here." Nate chimed in.

"And overall, she's improving by the second. She'll just look like hell for a bit." he concluded.

Azazel nodded.

"He is." he said.

"I'm willing to bet that your Wood Elf pawn hasn't said enough, probably because he knows very little." he told her.

"So he'll be down here very soon, I'd wager." he reasoned.

"After you speak with him initially, then sure. A shower." he went on.

It was at that point, Hal walked through the open door to the room, and crossed his hands over his chest.

"Welcome. Vanessa Encrae."

"..." Sharp was silent as she extended her hand.

"I despise you." he said.

"With every fibre of my being." he said further.

"However, I realise the threat that Vyran has on this world." he went on. "And the more power we have against him, the better." he sighed.

He then uncrossed his arms, and grabbed her own hand.

"Truce." he agreed.

"Well, thankfully, we have some help for that." Sharp said.

"Not only do we have Icesska, but we have someone else from his world." he told her.

"She came here seeking out Vyran to bring him back, and was bounced to Icesska's location." he went on. "And she says the biggest obstacle will be tracking him down." he went on.

"If you can aid with that, then we stand a good chance." he continued.

"You should meet her ASAP." he suggested, before looking her over.

"...once you clean yourself up." he commented.

"I get the feeling you don't want to look like one of your torture victims."

"Come on, then." Sharp said.

"Is she fit to leave?" he asked.

"Yes." Nate replied. "Her body is repairing itself at a steady rate and her mana is slowly replenishing." he went on. "As far as her external injuries go, they seem to be superficial, and at worst, will require MAYBE a stitch or two." he continued.

"Odds are Vyran was doing it as some form of amusement or torture." Azazel postulated.

"Most likely, from what I've heard about him." Sharp agreed.

"Anyway, get her out of here." Nate then said.

"If Alicja doesn't see her here, then we'll all have a must less stressful time." he reasoned.
