@Whimsy: Yeah sometimes it's just too much for your brain. Breaks are actually really important. I heard another thing you can do is look over your work/study right before bed even if you are tired (like just reading) and it will help you remember it because when you sleep your brain stores information into long term memory.

@Totalanimefan: Thanks for the tip, I totally agree! And it's because your brain stores the info while you sleep that you're advised not to shorten or skip your sleep.
In high school my mom kept wanting me to stay up to study for college entrances and I wish I didn't make a habit of sleeping later because of it.
