@grost: Exactly. Have you heard of 'missing middle' housing? People are trying to change the zoning laws to allow things like townhomes, duplexes, garden style apartments, cottages, etc. That way there is housing for any kind of budget or lifestyle.
It was hard for my husband and I to find a place that fit just us two plus two animals and one room for a home office. We didn't want a big place though. A two bedroom is enough. We had to look at a downtown type area and we got a house built in the 1800s. Because back then they didn't make them huge. It's a really high and indemand neighborhood for that reason. People want to live in places where they can walk to a cafe, work, a park or the store. That's good quality of life.
@danie: I went to Japan in 2018. It was cool. The plane ride sucks though.
@totalanimefan: I am sure the plane ride is not fun. I would definitely have to find a way to preoccupy myself. Lots of manga and maybe the 2ds. XD Some wifi. I'd figure it out xD

Where did you visit in Japan?
@danie: I went to a lot of places. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Shizuoka-ken.

@danie: In Shizuoka-ken we stayed with a Japanese family that I know and it was a really small town in the countryside called Takyo. It was nice to see the reactions of the people who had never seen white people before.
It was also nice to surprise them that I know Japanese XD
Oh and I went to an Onsen.

@danie: It's hard to find which small town to go too. It's normally a far journey from Tokyo.
Learning Japanese is also hard. If you want to go around Japan, and not just Tokyo, you really have to know your Kanji.
