I don't remember. I feel like I was fairly young when I figured it out though

I lost a tooth when I was about six and my teacher asked me whether or not the tooth fairy had taken it yet. I said yes, but a classmate overheard and told me the tooth fairy wasn't real. I remember I wasn't exactly shocked XD I was quite a shrewd child. Anyway I brought it up with my mum and she confessed that Father Christmas wasn't real either. LOL I got a lot of bad news that day.

@Totalanimefan: just decorating for Christmas. I turned the front room into Santa's Grotto pretty much lol.

I don't remember how I found out either actually. I was a bit older, like 4th grade maybe.

@sunny: lol that's always fun though. In the US most people don't start celebrating Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving (which is always the 4th Thursday of Nov). But it's starting to be that Christmas starting earlier and earlier and people don't care as much about Thanksgiving.
I love thanksgiving cause it's the same food as Christmas pretty much but none of the stress of gift giving. Just everyone cooking and eating way too much food.

@Starlight: figured it out on your own.
@sunny: had a really bad day that day. :(
@MoodyB: had your fun spoiled by a sibling (older, I'm guessing)
@Totalanimefan: doesn't remember.

I don't remember either. I do remember trying to hold on to the idea of "magic" and "good things" for as long as I could though.

@Totalanimefan: oh yeah we don't usually start Christmas this early but 2020 has been a write off, and it's nice to have good things to think about rather than bad things :/

I usually love Thanksgiving too but it is a lot of cooking and I usually host and don't get much help with any of it /eyeroll/ so I think I'm liking it less as time goes on. Christmas I'm enjoying more these days - cooking is more relaxed around here - kind of a constant grazing and now that my kids are older, I can sleep past 5am and we can take it easy

Actually I remember pretending to believe in Santa at some point since my parents seemed to think I thought he was real

@sunny: So true. I think that's why I've been seeing a lot of Christmas trees up around here. But please, no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. One month of it is enough lol
@0v7: Good to hear!

@Wildfire: No one helps you?! During normal years since your hosting your guests don't bring one or two dishes each? Like in my family the main host cooks the turkey, and maybe would make something easy like a dessert, but everyone else brings something in my family. That's really not fair to the host.

@Totalanimefan: I've already heard holiday music in the stores, which says a lot given that I can't remember the last time I was actually in one that didn't sell food.

@Wildfire: my fam grew up in poverty but just getting any gift was kinda
awesome as we couldn't afford a lot.

I think my favorite christmas we had was when i got a puppy stuffed animal in my stocking.
