@Wildfire: It's.... a work in progress. I'm just hoping my cousin, her sister, and her parents get access to running water soon because all of them don't respect my boundaries/belongings T_T

@Another Movie Addict: You too, huh? Oh, that's really too bad!!

@0v7: If the behavior crosses so many generational boundaries, it's no wonder the child doesn't understand.

But, apparently, some people (of any age) do not understand or respect boundaries. Then we wonder why we have to tell people "no means NO", for example /eyeroll/ and it's because of THIS.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like both those kids are serious brats in the making.

He came into my room trying to force me into letting him play on my computer, because he saw my Minecraft stuff. He decided it was okay to get into my personal space. I told him and hist mother bluntly "someone needs a lesson in boundaries", so she shewed him away from me.

@Another Movie Addict: That's not a horrible outcome, given what you described a minute ago. And good for you to identify it like that.

Don't get me wrong, there IS a stage of child development where the issues of boundaries is natural and normal and teachable. But there is also a point where it is no longer teachable...

@Wildfire: This kid is driving me up the wall - she apparently dug through me and grandpa's dresser drawers, and it's fine apparently?? I'm trying to be like, gentle about this, but oh my god she doesn't listen.

You're not, they just don't want to tell her no. Because if you say no you're an abusively bad person. People don't know how to discipline anymore.

I cannot wait for them to get running water, so they won't have a reason to come over here.

Long story short, they moved a mobile home onto our land, and moved in... without getting running water, since that required a water meter, which our landlord refused to give them. So we got a well dug for them, and now we're waiting to buy a septic tank, so they're using our facilities in the meantime.

It was.... $14k to dig it ovo;;
Thankfully, grandpa could help them afford it, but.... that's so much. I've not even held $400 on me at any given time. ovo;;;;

o.o that is a lot.

When I was younger we had to dig to the pipes of our own well, and we did it ourselves. I remember being put into a bucket and lowered down to help dig.

We had to dig a bit ourselves for water pipes - making sure to not break an ethernet cable and existing water pipes >w>

I'd take digging water pipes over tilling a huge garden @_@
We had a big garden this year, and tilling it with a hand tiller was so hard...
