Forums General Chit-Chat Unexpected Covid19 consequence?

Donator Posted 4 years ago ( 2020/04/23 21:11:44 )
My sisters’s HOA sent out a letter saying they would be raising their HOA fees due to more people staying home, walking around the “lake”, and feeding the ducks.

Their reasoning is that the ducks are getting happier, fatter, and mating more creating more duckies and they need to clean up all the poop. They are also getting into the community pool that happens to be beside the “lake”.

I’m quacking up over here ๐Ÿคฃ

@kitalpha hart: this same HOA sent me a letter when I lived there about grass on our driveway. The only time there had been grass on the driveway during the timeframe of the letter was a time we were literally outside doing yard work and mowing and some grass had gotten onto the driveway during the process and cleaned up the same day. This guy was driving around, looking for houses that didn’t comply with HOA rules and did not once think “I see the people working outside. It’s gonna get picked up.” ๐Ÿ™„

@kairu: the ducks are apparently having the time of their lives ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
It’s a good time to be a duck I guess.

I am looking for some items in my quest thread!
I can offer a trade or art for them!

I don't have a HOA over here, but I always hear stories about how they tend to be money-grabbing bullies. Is that true?

I’m not really sure what a HOA is and I’m too tired to look it up, but it sounds awful lmao. I’ve always lived on my parents land in the woods or in slummy apartments so I’ve never had to worry about that and I super hope I never have to. I spent the first 20 years of my life living as a literal hill-billy and sometimes civilized society is still so weird to me lmao

Hit send too soon. Was gonna say that I wouldn’t have thought about such an interesting little detail like that coming out of covid. I’m interested in that kind of thing so thanks for sharing!

I'm glad my HOA is mostly hands off, they pretty much only complain if you cut down a tree or trim large branches, or if you leave a "permanent" decoration outside...one of my neighbors had to move a decorative fountain around their driveway for a few weeks to make a point that it wasn't "technically" permanent.
They sent us an angry letter for removing a tree after we moved in, because the tree was cracking the cement on our walkway and driveway. Like, bruh. Its doing property damage and it looks sick.
